Kids bedtime stories

The four little dragons had a loving family. Mama and Dada were always there for them. One day, when the little dragons woke up their parents were not to be found anywhere in the huge dragon hut. Only their granny was; who told them that Mama was not well and Dada had to take her to the hospital. Sad and upset, the three little dragons dressed for school fighting on every little thing. Pixy couldn’t find his shoes, Dixy didn’t want cereals for breakfast and Marinda just didn’t know how to do anything without her mummy. Granny was busy with Denis who just kept crying and crying…

Soon the school bus arrived and none of the dragons were ready to leave. Denis was still crying and Granny was still shouting at everyone to be quick, but it was too late as the bus had already left.

Granny finally managed to rock Denis to sleep she got all three silly dragons to sit on the dining table and talk to her about what had happened. The dragons were sad and upset; Marinda began to cry, “why did mama have to go”? she exclaimed.

Hearing this Granny hugged her tight with her long tail and explained to her that sometimes parents are not there for you but it’s not because they don’t love you. There are things and situations that kids do not understand but kids should always know that parents love their children no matter what. When parents are away, “that is the time when children have to take control and act responsibly”, she said. Granny also told them how upset mom would be if she found out that they had missed their school.

Finally, the little dragons got the point and the rest of the day was spent helping each other and taking care of baby Denis. In the evening Dada dragon came home and told everyone that mama was not well and would have to stay in the hospital for one more day. The kids were obviously upset, but they promised Dada to be the best little dragons while mommy was away.

The next morning everyone got up on time. Marinda helped granny make breakfast. Pixy cleaned everybody’s shoes and Dixy put their lunch boxes and bottles in their bags. They were all ready before time and when the bus came they left for school.

Mama came home later that day. The little dragons were so happy to see her. Granny told Mama how they helped each other. When mama heard this about her little dragons her eyes started to glow and she flapped her wings in joy. She became so happy that she forgot all about her pain and illness and started to feel so much better right away.
