Life is a journey, they say. And this journey comes with a lot of ups and downs. Things go your way at times, and sometimes it’s the opposite. But whatever the case is with you, you have to embrace the reality and deal with it the best way you can.

Often we assume life isn’t fair, and we are on the wrong path because some people have it better than us. When you look at your ambitions, the things you could do and achieve, and how things are going with you, at times, you get tempted to believe you weren’t born for greatness. Well, you aren’t alone in such a situation.

We all have things this way in our lives, and there’re millions out there facing similar and even stricter circumstances than us. But in all of it, the one thing that can help you sail through without drowning is your response.

Do you feel what you’re going through you’re the only one who’s facing such a challenge, and life isn’t fair? That, when you think of your situation, you think you’ve got it all bad, and nothing can work out for you? Or you think others are also facing a similar problem but are making something out of it, and you can, too?

Whatever your answers are, whether positive or negative, I’m here to say to your face that those difficulties you’re experiencing are your source of wealth and happiness. If other people can turn things around for their good, you can too, if you can look for the silver lining. Here’s why;

The difficulties you are facing can be the source of your wealth and happiness

The author of the book, Victim to victor, Nick Santonastasso, was born on May 20, 1996, in New Jersey, United States. As a child, He was born without legs and hands, except for the one hand with a finger.

Growing up, Nick never had the typical childhood that some of us had. He could not play or do things usually as kids do. He was deprived of so many things and experiences that he was supposed to have, growing up. Yet, despite all the disadvantages, he had garnered his strength to be who he’s known for today — an entrepreneur, speaker, model, author, and athlete.

It all happened due to his ability to capitalize on his disability by looking at himself and asking specific questions to make something out of life. Out of those questions, he is the man we know today.

He emphasized that his physical disadvantages have never been a problem for him in an interview. Because he knew the most significant disability in life is a destructive mindset. So, in all his doings, he did what he can to get his perspective right because, without it, you couldn’t become who you want to be in life.

The same is you and your situation. Do you think you can’t turn things around? Do you feel nothing is possible because all is hard with you?

Nick Santanasso says, everything is the mindset, and if you can get it right, you’ll triumph despite all the disadvantages that are against you.

I can call myself a writer today because of my life’s difficulties. That, when I couldn’t do the things I love and wanted to do because of where I find myself now, and I needed to do something to change my situation and, the idea of writing came up, and I picked it up; I have become a writer, and I’m writing today.

There’re so many people out there too, who are thriving because of their life’s difficulties. It’s numerous stories, and you can be one if you can attach the right mindset to your problems.

Why you need to be thankful for those difficulties

In his book, The fault is the sufferer, Indian mystic teacher Dada Bagwan stated that nature never makes mistakes with its decisions and judgment.

Whatever you are going through and think is not fair, nature did not hand that to you because it does not want to see you succeed. It gave it to you because you can handle it. And with it, you should be thankful.

It is proof you are tough, powerful, and worthy enough to deal with such a problem as there are so many people in the world that, when put in those situations, would not last for a second.

So, instead of playing the victim game and wallowing yourself in self-pity, be grateful and look for how you can use it to your advantage, as when you do, not only will you become successful but happy and fulfilled.

The battle of life is, in most cases, fought uphill; and to win it without a struggle were perhaps to win it without honor. If there were no difficulties there would be no success; if there were nothing to struggle for, there would be nothing to be achieved.— Samuel Smiles

How to use difficulties in life to your advantage and succeed

Tony Robbins reminds us to ask these questions; What’s this problem trying to teach me? What do I make of this? How do I use it?

The moment we ask these questions, we shift our mindset and perceptions to a more powerful state. And as we enter into these mental states, our creative senses get activated, making way for innovative solutions to our problems, which paves the way for us to succeed because we get to be clear with ourselves and things and make the right decisions.

So, to make use of unpleasant situations, you want to rely on questions. Not just any question. The ones that open your mind, empower, and put you in a state where you are motivated and inspired to take action, understanding that difficulties in life aren’t meant to break but make you.

You might want to consider looking for people in similar circumstances as you and help them out as well, which when you do, you’ll get paid definitely, and success will show up at your doorstep.

Final thoughts

Success in life comes out of difficulties. It’s through our problems and struggles that we create the need for a change. It means issues are the precursor for change and success in life, and without them, we can’t achieve anything valuable.

Be grateful for difficulties if you have them in your life. And if you don’t have them, pray for one. Because, through it, your highest selves are revealed to you, and you can make the best decisions.
