CNN Controversy Dealt With
Don Lemon Is Back on His Show, CNN This Morning
And a Washington rumor is put to rest
Host Don Lemon is back in his seat on CNN This Morning, after undergoing “formal training” prescribed by CNN CEO Chris Licht. The training was required by Licht after Lemon stated on air that former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley, who is 51, wasn’t “in her prime”.
Lemon isn’t saying much about his training, other than to say it was “very expertly delivered”.
However, Senator Bernie Sanders (Ind. Vermont) has spilled the beans. Evidently, both he and soon-to-retire California Senator Diane Feinstein were recruited to be a major part of the training provided to Lemon.
“They asked Diane first, and then she asked me,” Sanders explained. “Diane is 89 and going to retire,” Sanders said, “but she is sharp as a tack and still very active. And, I would say, very much in her prime. That’s what Licht wanted us to show Lemon — that a woman’s prime — especially — can be almost never-ending.”
“Listen,” he went on. “I myself am 81, and I have always had a hard time keeping it up. I mean — keeping up with her!”
When asked to describe the training they delivered, Sanders was a little more closed-mouthed.
“Well, basically, all we did was to take Don out, to a local dance club here in D.C. We talked about almost everything — world news, sports, Ukraine, you name it. And when it comes to it, I’m a fairly good dancer. But I had a hard time keeping up with Senator Feinstein. She can cut a rug, let me tell you.”
“But, one thing I want to say most clearly, because I know there are rumors to the effect circulating around D.C., and you can quote me.”
“Senator Diane Feinstein did not, and I repeat, did not — at any time during the evening — dance the hoochie coochie!”
For her part, when Senator Feinstein was reached for comment about the rumors, she just smiled and said —
“The hoochie coochie? No, that was Bernie’s thing.”
But either way, Don Lemon discovered that Bernie, Feinstein, and 51-year-old Nikki Haley, are definitely all “in their prime”.
