Trump was reminded just a few days ago of an incident that took place back in 2019, during his presidency. It was something that made him almost as mad as he has ever been.
Trump’s flashback occurred while he was watching a Congressional hearing the Republicans were holding to try to prove Twitter’s bias against them. A Twitter spokesperson revealed the Trump White House’s effort to pressure Twitter to delete a tweet in which Chrissy Teigen called the president a “pussy ass bitch.”
Back then, Trump had tweeted his complaint that others were taking credit for a crime bill he had worked for and signed, and were not giving him his due. Chrissy Teigen, wife of John Legend, responded in a tweet essentially calling Trump a cry baby about the matter, but she didn’t use that term. She called him a “pussy ass bitch”.
Why was Trump so upset? What made him jump up and down, and storm around the White House?
It was because he thought she ripped him off — using a phrase that HE had originated — and uses to this day.
“That’s my thing!” Trump was heard shouting from the Oval Office. “That pussy ass bitch is trying to rip me off!”
Trump was so upset about it — so possessive of the phrase — so sure he had come up with it — that he wanted to tweet and let the whole world know HE was the originator of the bon mot. But, of course he couldn’t.
“It wouldn’t look very presidential,” he was told over and over again by his advisors. A few even threatened to resign if he tweeted it — so he eventually gave up the idea.
But he has not given up the phrase — not at all.
To this day it is one of his go-to descriptors. For instance, while outwardly supportive of former VP Pence, calling him an honorable man who did nothing wrong after Pence was subpoenaed by the Special Counsel regarding the Jan 6 insurrection, Trump was overheard expressing his fear that Pence was going to sell him out.
“I’m worried about what Pence is going to tell the Special Counsel,” Trump was overheard to say. “He tries to tell me he’s with me, but I don’t know if I can count on him. He’s such a pussy ass bitch.”
