1 Thing You Can Do for 20 Minutes a Day to Improve Your Health

Consistency is the key

Photo by Denise Jones on Unsplash

It is true that many people want to be healthier but they’re not willing to do what it takes to get there.

You want to be healthier, right?

You do want to increase longevity, don’t you?

You want to live better, right?

Well, if you’re the type of person who is closed to learning all you can about techniques that will help you be healthier, then your health can suffer.

“It is health that is the real wealth, and not pieces of gold and silver.” — Mahatma Gandhi

You likely don’t even realize that not taking time each day to work on you is slowly robbing you or your good health.

The Energy Concept

What is the 1 thing you should add to your daily routine that most people don’t realize is connected to their health and well-being?

Raising your energy vibration. Practice doing this everyday for 20 minutes and your overall health of mind, body and spirit could be greatly enhanced and improved.

You want to have good things come your way, right?

Then, becoming really good and controlling your energy so that you are in more positive vibrational states than negative is the key.

You know you get really good at something when you practice.

What is your vibration exactly? What does that mean?

It is your personal energy field. Everyone has this and yours vibrates on a frequency that is unique to you and only you.

We all have a frequency and our vibration can be on low or high frequency or somewhere in between at any given time.

A vibration is a state of being, the atmosphere, or the energetic quality of a person, place, thought, or thing, agreeing with a personal growth and self-care article on Chopra.com.

Your vibration is determined by the combination of your thoughts, actions, choice of words, beliefs, feelings, values, habits, body, spirit, mind, the people around, your environment— everything about you.

“Everything in life is vibration.” –Albert Einstein

So, if you want to be in a healthier state, take notice of how you think, what actions you take, what you say, and how you care for your mind, body, and spirit!

“As you think, you vibrate. As you vibrate, you attract.” — Abraham-Hicks

It all affects your frequency.

Want to feel better, be better, and do better?

Raise your vibration as often as possible!

High Vibration

We all have an inner light and if your vibration is high, then it means you hold more light and your light particles are vibrating faster, which also means you are on a higher level of consciousness and are strongly connected to your soul self.

When you are vibrating at a higher level, you feel lighter, happier, and more at ease (Chopra.com).

This Huffington Post article points out that with a high vibration, your energy is not weighed down.

It’s very light. You operate in positivity, healing and health. You draw love to you and you give love.

You are happier and so are the people around you. You are accepting and inclusive as well as generous with a winning attitude.

Great things come your way when your vibration is high. You are a magnet for good things, including good health.

You become aware of your worth and your own divinity. You are vibrant and mentally, emotionally, and physically healthy and you have grace and ease flowing in your life instead of dis-ease.

Low Vibration

If you live mostly operating with a low vibration, then your inner light vibrates slowly and condenses your frequency.

Lower vibrations feel heavy, dark, and confused (Chopra.com)

In this state, you feel heavy energy because you are out of alignment with your soul self. Instead, you are allowing your ego, which is your lower self, to reign in you.

This is too bad.

Medium’s Kimberly Fosu explains low vibrational frequency and how living on low energy vibration was affecting her life.

Dr. David R. Hawkins maps out how a low vibration means you dwell in lower levels of consciousness and spend too much time harboring negative emotions such as fear, anger, bitterness, resentment, strife, or ungratefulness (taking good things for granted or constantly complaining about something).

You also have a tendency to place blame on others, feel guilty, or be jealous and judgmental.

Other symptoms of a low vibration could be that you harbor shame about something, have a lack of self worth, are unforgiving, or are struggling with addiction.

Additionally, poor health is a sign that your vibration is low, due to your frequency being so low for too long.

How to Raise Your Vibration

I love the doing things to raise my vibration!

There are several good reads on ways that you can do it too. I’ll list some of them below for your convenience, but here are a few that stand out the most to me.

Be aware of your thoughts

  • Every thought impacts upon your life in some way. Make it a habit to regularly, consciously take charge of what you are thinking at any given time. This could be just for 60 seconds or 5 minutes. Consciously choose to think positive, good things for a few minutes.

Meditate regularly

  • Meditation is an age-old practice that has be proven to have many benefits for the mind, body and spirit. For instance, it can lower blood pressure, reduce stress, control anxiety, improve mood, and enhance self-awareness, to name a few benefits.
  • Taking a few minutes or more out of the day to be still and silent will connect you with a higher power, heighten your intuition and raise your frequency.

Watch what you eat

  • I call this eating on purpose or medicinal consumption. Not only do people have vibrations but so does everything else in the universe and food is no exception. There are low and high vibrating foods.
  • Examples of low vibrating foods that will weaken you are fast foods, high fructose corn syrup, white flour-based foods, junk food and processed foods.
  • High vibrating foods are, that’s right you guessed it, organic fruits and vegetables and healthy oils.

Give up smoking, recreational drug use, and too much alcohol

  • Needless to say, these bad habits are hazardous to health and a threat to life, particularly when they are overdone.
  • Substance abuse has many harmful effects to the brain and body as well as the mind, as it drastically alters the brain’s chemistry and leads to myriad health complications, including liver disease, kidney disease, and deadly transmitted infections such as hepatitis and HIV.

Be mindful of your choice of music

  • Whatever you listen to regularly is a form of consumption. Your choice of music has an impact on your vibrational frequency. Think about it. The mind is just like a computer and whatever you impress upon it will become part of your fiber.
  • If you constantly listen to music with negative lyrics of death, destruction, pain, hate, violence and fear, then these are the qualities that you will internalize from listening to this music.
  • Consciously choose to listen to music that heals on a regular basis, such as classical music or meditation/relaxation music.

Pay attention to your home environment

  • Since you spend a lot of time in your home, be mindful of what you have in the home because objects carry vibrations. This includes color schemes, books, paintings, photographs, crystals, flowers, etc.
  • Take the time to do a little research on the things around your house and find out their vibration.

Be mindful of what you watch on television

  • Similar to minding your music, you should be careful of what you allow yourself to see on TV, and I’m going to take it a step further and say watch what you expose yourself to online regularly.
  • For example, the news is predicated on negativity and many TV shows and movies depict violence, death and destruction. Limit your TV and Internet viewing time of negative imagery and add more positive viewing options.

Watch who you surround yourself with

  • The people in your life all have vibrational frequencies, so be aware of them and do not spend time with people who have negative energy. They are toxic.
  • This could be family, friends, acquaintances, coworkers, someone you are in a relationship with, etc. Surround yourself with people who can positively add to you instead of take away.

Dole out random acts of kindness

  • Be kind to people (and animals) just because and don’t expect anything in return. Good deeds are good seeds that you plant in the universe, and a good harvest will come your way from it, sooner or later in one way or another.
  • Do things just out of the kindness of your heart.

Have compassion and practice forgiveness

  • As much as is in you and feasible, forgive someone and forgive yourself for things. Be compassionate and help someone, even if that person has wronged you in the past.
  • Harboring resentment and seeking revenge are low vibrating mental states and are now good for your own health.

One More!

Exercise, of course!

This is one that is always a must. The benefits of exercise are well-documented. It can help you lose weight, strengthen muscles and bones, help you relax, help release toxins from the body, increase physical energy levels, slow signs of aging, and many more benefits!

When it comes to getting motivated to exercise, Nike’s slogan says it best — JUST DO IT!

Consciously work on these things, breaking them up and working on one or two for 20 minutes every day and you could see your health change for the better. It has worked for me for sure.

Your vibration (vibe) has more to do with the condition of your health and life than you think, and it says a lot about you.

Here is an article I wrote on the subject: “What Does Your Vibe Say About You?” It touches on the notion of our vibes bringing us success or failure, health and happiness or sickness and disease.

So, what’s your vibe?
