Dog Shines in His Happy Place
Summer Six Word Photo Story Challenge: “Shine!”
I am happy! Can’t you tell?
This is Skye.
Skye is one of the dogs that we are hanging out with at our current location in Uganda.
Skye is one of those sneaky dogs.
No matter what, you feel like he is up to no good. But other than pooping where he isn’t supposed to, he is actually an excellent dog.
When Skye arrived at this property only a few months ago, he had two large gashes across his nose that the owners think were caused by a machete.
So we think that he was abused at his last home.
But here, he is well fed and free to run around the property.
Quite often, we will find him lying under one of these tables.
In the morning he crawls out from under the deck of our cabin, then follows us around for much of the day.
He doesn’t go far from our side as we give him lots of pets and cuddles and he knows he will get a little snack from us at dinner time.
It’s nice to be in a place where they genuinely treat the pets well. It’s not like that in many places in Uganda.
We think Skye knows how good he has it, and he truly now shines in his happy place.
