This is the article to ask all of us to show up for each other the way our moms (or other family members) did not.

You are here. You are alive. You deserve to exist.

I believe that so strongly that I recorded a video at the end of this article to tell you so. I want you to hear me say it in my voice.

I see you. I know you are worthy. I knew it before I met you.

Think back to the part of you that existed before you knew you existed. The part that was just a soul inside a womb waiting to be born.

That’s the part of you that deserves to exist by virtue that you already do. That’s the part of you that deserves a mom’s love. The part that doesn’t need to prove what it needs.

That part is the truest part of YOU.

It’s the part that began as a life that holds awe and wonder simply by having the opportunity to discover who you are when you finally set yourself free.

Having said that…

If your mom DID show up for you (or anyone else in your family ❤), be the one who shows that love to someone who did not have that honor.

We aren’t born feeling worthy, you know? Someone has to model that for us and teach us that the most true part of us can never be anything less.
