Summary

The article suggests that our thoughts possess a form of magical power, influencing our reality through the principles of the law of attraction and the science behind our brain's Reticular Activating System (RAS).

Abstract

The article "Do Your Thoughts Have Magical Powers?" posits that thoughts are not merely perceptions but have tangible effects on our lives. It draws a parallel between the fictional magic of Harry Potter and the real-life potential of our thoughts, asserting that we can manifest our desires into reality by controlling our conscious and subconscious minds. The text explains that we have approximately 60,000 thoughts daily, with 90% occurring subconsciously. By intentionally directing our conscious thoughts, we can influence our beliefs and actions. The article references the law of the universe that energy cannot be created or destroyed, implying that thoughts, as a form of energy, can align with the frequency of our desires to attract them into our lives. This concept is supported by the law of attraction, which is backed by science through the function of the Reticular Activating System in the brain, filtering our focus and directing our attention towards achieving our goals. The article concludes by emphasizing the importance of having a clearly defined goal and a positive mindset to manifest desired outcomes.

Opinions

  • The author believes in the power of positive thinking and its ability to shape our reality.
  • There is an opinion that everything we experience is a result of our thoughts, whether we are aware of them or not.

  • The author references Bob Proctor, who discusses the idea that everything exists in the form of energy and thoughts can influence this energy to bring about what we want.
  • The article conveys the opinion that the Reticular Activating System (RAS) in the brain plays a crucial role in the law of attraction by focusing our attention on our goals and the means to achieve them.
  • It is implied that having a growth mindset, which focuses on opportunities rather than obstacles, is key to achieving success.

Do Your Thoughts Have Magical Powers?

Swing the magic wand that exists within your brain

How many times have you seen a Harry Potter movie and thought to yourself, “If I could just Abracadabra…”

Maybe you have worn rings thinking they have some magical powers as well.

I used to jump and capture an image midway. It looked as if I was flying.

You are not supposed to fly, neither will you be able to after reading this. But magic is real, ladies and gentlemen.

Not only is it real it resides within you.

Let me explain.

Thoughts are not just random perceptions of things, they are very real.

So let me swing my magic wand.

Thoughts are everything

We are always engaging with thoughts. If not consciously, then subconsciously or unconsciously.

Scientists indicate that we think about 60,000 thoughts a day. 90% are without consciously being aware of them.

The thing with thoughts is, if we control our subconscious thoughts, we can make them a reality.

The way we can do this is by deliberately controlling conscious thoughts.

Control thoughts by intentionally thinking about things you want.

Everything you believe, think is impossible, or do, is all because of your thinking.

Think about it, how do you know falling from a tall building will kill you?

I mean it is fairly obvious, but how do you know it? Did you actually see someone falling? Did you fall?

How do you know a bullet to the head kills you?

Doesn’t mean go to the top of the Empire States Building and take a dive, it is just something to think about it.

Let's stir some physics into it

The law of the universe states that energy can not be created or destroyed. It can only be converted into different forms.

If you think of thoughts as a form of energy, Bob Proctor has something interesting to share with you.

If nothing is created, that means that everything is already there. In the form of energy — raw energy, in the form of thoughts.

Everything is vibrating at a certain frequency, Bob Proctor says. When you reach that certain frequency, you reach that desired thing.

The same frequency is attained by thinking as if you have already achieved it.

This is the law of attraction — thinking things into existence. Manifestation.

Science backs the Law of Attraction

You might think all I am saying is giberrish and makes no sense. Let me get a bit science-y on you.

We have a part in the brain called the Reticular Articulating System (RAS). It filters what we focus on and we do not.

The RAS influences the brain. It tells the brain what to throw the spotlight on.

It is a type of a filter.

When you consciously allow positve thoughts to set in, you attract positivity.

There is a catch though,

You have to have a CLEARLY DEFINED goal and you have to believe you can achieve it, with certainty.

The RAS deliberately focuses your brain on the information that gets you to that goal. This way you get there eventually.

Takeaway

Thoughts define everything you do. EVERYTHING.

They are a form of energy that dictate things as they go, and your reality as you live it.

Turns out thoughts in fact do have magical powers. So next time you think your life is a disaster, try and focus on the positives. Believe you can get out of the rut.

Focusing on opportunities rather than obstacles gives you a growth mindset. Your RAS intentionally gets your brain to focus on opportunities.

This way you get close and closer to your goal, and eventually will achieve it.
