THIS OR THAT

Do You Want to Dance and Hold My Hand?

BJ’s This or That Spring Fling Challenge

I’ve never believed in dancing two feet away from your partner. I prefer to be up close and personal. If your dancing partner is the man or woman you want to be with, Dance with your arms lightly wrapped around them. Let your hand occasionally drop to her bottom. After all, it would help if you knew a little geography about your partner.

Well, enough of that. as Brett Jenae Tomlin would say, let’s play.

Trophy or Tiara? Trophy, because I’d look rather stupid in a Tiara.

Slow Dance or Fast Dance? Slow. Slow AF and up close so I can inhale her perfume and taste the side of her neck. Any questions?

Corsage or Boutonniere? What say we call it a flower? Oh damn. That’s not part of the game. I’ll go with an understated boutonniere to give myself a little class.

Mustang or Corvette? Mustang. My first car was a 1964-and-a-half Mustang with a stick. I didn’t learn how to drive a stick until many years later. I miss that damn car.

Curfew or No Curfew? No curfew. We’re adults, after all.

Table or Floor? Anyone can take care of business on the floor. But pros understand “breakfast” can be a lot of fun on the table. Who’s hungry?

Barefoot or Shoes? Barefoot works. If you’re a wee bit tipsy, stepping on your partner’s toes won’t hurt too much. Or if you’re on the beach.

Tater ToTs or French Fries? I prefer French fries. You never know when you’ll have the opportunity to dip it in something tasty.

Butterflies or Hummingbirds? Butterflies. They’re free to fly. (Of course, I’m listening to Someone Saved My Life Tonight by Elton John now.)

Cucumber or Melon? Cucumbers are for salads. But if you can get your hands on nice melons…

St. Patty’s or Spring Equinox? I prefer St. Patrick’s Day. It’s an excellent excuse to drink crappy beer — or any beer.

Man Cave or Diva Den? Is there anything better than a diva’s den? I think not.

Staycation or Spring Break? I’m a bit old for Spring Break. Not mentally. I’m still a pimply-faced 18-year-old. Still, I’m going on a staycation — in the Swiss mountains. I’m staying after all.

Lilacs or Lilies? Lillies. I’m a photographer, and lilies are much easier to photograph as a still life.

Grass or Clover? There’s nothing like plush green grass to lay on — with a blanket. And wine. And cheese. And her. Shall I go on, or do you get the picture?

Rainbows or Recklessness? Rainbows. I got mellow after I retired from the military. My teens, 20s, and 30s were full of recklessness.

Timely or Tailgating? Tailgating. I at least know WTF that is. Timely? Not a clue

Feathers or Foam? I’m gonna have to go with feathers on this one. What the hell would I do with a freakin’ pool noodle?

Lawn Flamingos or Garden Gnomes? Lawn Flamingos, hands down. I live in the city where Donald Featherstone created the plastic flamingos in 1957.

Crystal or Disco Ball? I’ll go with the once ubiquitous disco ball. I was a teen and young adult during the disco days.
