Do You Really Need Pain Before You Succeed?

I thought that I needed to be homeless at one point to be successful

The list goes on and on…

Reading all the stories of rich entrepreneurs who used to be homeless made an impression on me.

Living in my bachelor dorm with my bank account almost empty, I believed I was too rich to succeed.

“Success is to be measured not so much by the position that one has reached in life as by the obstacles which he has overcome while trying to succeed.” Booker T. Washington

I believed that I should:

  • Get broke
  • Live on the street
  • Beg for food

So I would get the breakthrough I was seeking.

I believed that my life was too lavish. So I sabotaged my success. I felt unworthy because I didn’t go through all that drama.

I discounted all my health issues.

I thought that my:

  • Brittle bones disease
  • 60+ fractures (10+ of both femurs/hips)
  • Living in a wheelchair most of my childhood

Wasn’t enough.

I felt that I didn’t suffer enough.

I believed:

I deserved to be homeless.

That living on street would unlock my full potential.

That I don’t have compelling & inspiring story.

That something bad was missing.

I was seeking more pain. I couldn’t focus on success. On my business.

Just because I thought I wasn’t ready.

Screwed it up

So I:

  • Wrecked my business up
  • Declined a compelling offer by a marketing agency
  • I stopped my online fitness business just before I would start making money (I had 28000 followers on my socials…)

And 2 years from that, I needed to start all over again…

from scratch.

The difference?

I realized that I don’t need to experience more pain than anyone else to be deserving of success.

Heart-wrenching shit, right?

I needed to start from scratch.

No engaging followers.

No offers.

Just me, my knowledge, and my experience.

But this time I was ready.

110 days in, I’m close to start making money online. Not so close as I was 2 years ago. But that’s not important.

“Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment.”

Buddha

I focus on the only moment I can influence — the present moment.

Crying about the past mistakes, would be a deadly decision.

So what’s the takeaway?

When you start asking yourself if you need to experience more pain in your life,

Ask yourself: “Why do I believe that?”

Those beliefs were engraved on your subconscious mind by unsuccessful people that live in pity.

Would you really like to follow their advice?

Do you want to give them permission to make decisions for you?

Do you believe them?

Do you believe they’re successful?

Do you genuinely believe they can help you succeed?

If all the answers are NO,

why on Earth do you take their advice then?

Don’t complain about the reasons why you can’t be successful.

Focus on your:

  • Virtues
  • Skills
  • Strengths
  • Knowledge
  • Personal story

And create something magnificent out of it.

That’s a WAY better approach.

Can’t wait to see you succeeding!
