Do You Listen To Your Body?
Listen to your body, heart, mind, and soul! It speaks the truth without bias.

I am menopausal and am feeling all of its symptoms in real time. Brain fog is one, thanks to catching COVID-19, it is enhanced. In a conversation with someone, who was interrupted by an important phone call which she put on speaker.
The person she was talking to was a medical doctor discussing important issues about the surgery of a family member.
I tuned out.
After he hung up, she explained why he called. I listen. While reporting it to a family member on the phone she asked me, “Do you remember what else he said?”
Nodding, I answered, “No, I am experiencing brain fog and am fighting memory issues.”
“Stop calling down things on yourself!” Was her response throwing my words in the trash as if I am stupid.
In shock, I said, “I am experiencing menopause and brain fog is one of the symptoms enhanced by me catching COVID-19.”
“It’s all in your head. If you keep telling yourself these things, they will happen.”
I tuned out and let her rant about how we bring bad things on ourselves by how we think.
Brain Fog is not a thought. Neither is menopause.
My critical thinking was developed early so my memory was damn good. Ignorant thinking like this is what causes many of us not to answer or be aware of the messages that our bodies send us.
Our bodies speak to us in many ways. It warns us through pain, fatigue, memory issues, etc. I am aware, so I can tell when something is off with my thinking, actions, choices, and decisions. I keep track of myself and what I do. I study myself too.
I know many people who died of various illnesses, some of which could have been prevented if detected early. I asked one family member at the funeral of someone who died because of diabetes, “Didn’t they have symptoms?”
Diabetes has symptoms.
She nodded, then said, “They don’t listen to their bodies.”
Another died of breast cancer.
“Didn’t she do her annual mammogram?”
“No, even when she found the first lump, she listened to a cousin who told her that she was bringing cancer on herself by thinking that way,” she said tears running down.
“But it runs in her family,” I recalled her mother and grandmother died of the same type of cancer.
“I guess she ignored the message her body sends,” she said. Then warned me to do my annual mammogram, and pap smear and listen to my body!
I know lots of people who think that way and die too early and young of preventable diseases.
I listen to my body. I must know what is going on so that I can help myself.
Depression visits. I know what it is and how to close the door on it. So does Anxiety. I learned how to prevent migraines, colds, flu, and whatever tries to attack my body.
Allowing my heart to speak is how I protect my heart.
Positive thinking with kindness, love, common sense, and wisdom is one way I protect my mind.
Going deeper behind every story, image, word, action, choice, decision, and intention is how I protect my soul.
Reading and doing lots of brain exercise is one way I protect my brain.
When we refuse to listen to our bodies, hearts, minds, and souls we are contributing to serious health issues that can end our lives.
Listen to your body, heart, mind, and soul! It speaks the truth without bias.
If your heart could speak, what would it say?
Listen to your body, heart, mind, and soul!
