Do You Ever Notice That A Snowflake Does Not Rush?
A poem about mindfulness and the beauty of the first snow.

Whisps of magic floating down like a soft, overturned snowglobe — wait — or the other way around?
When reality imitates art imitating reality, recreating that serene moment of silence as the world stops save for soft feathery drops gently making its way down.
Do you ever notice that a snowflake does not rush?
It does not have the urgency of a raindrop, ready to smash and splatter into the next Big Thing;
A snowflake slowly strolls through the air as if enjoying the present moment,
until it reaches its destination and disappears.

Can’t wait to house some of these in The Brain is a Noodle! 🧠🍜

Lucy (The Eggcademic) [she/her] encountered first snow about a month ago locally, but wanted to hold off on this prompt until snow reaches the rest of the world. The first snow has always held significance to me, as we pretended to be “season fairies” as kids and I would take Winter. The kdrama My Love From the Stars (an oldie but a goodie) also has a recurring first snow theme, referencing the tradition that lies told on first snow can be forgiven.
