✋ Do Not Submit Drafts Here. Do This Instead! — Short/Long. Sweet. Valuable.
One more reason why… 😕

Ahoy, Writers! 🙋♂️
First of all, let me sincerely thank you for submitting your stories! 🙏 And it’s not a fake or artificial “thank you” note, I really mean it. 🖤
This week (or next 😅) I am planning to create the Discord server where we all can meet each other better and chat about things. But for now, let’s communicate through Medium articles. 🐌📡
I try my best to review your submissions as fast as I can and I find really good works among them. Some of the stories are just pure golden nuggets. Or like Rihanna would say they “shine bright like a diamond”. 💎😂
I hope one day to become the Medium Boost nominator and send the best stories submitted here to the moon! 🚀
H̶o̶u̶s̶t̶o̶n̶ Medium, we have a problem! 😕
But there is one thing I want to talk about… And it’s Medium limits. 🚧
To be honest, before starting the pubs I didn’t even know that they existed! 🤷♂️
During this month, I discovered that there is a limit of:
- 💬 100 daily comments. On your 101st comment, you get this error and have to wait 24 hours to be able to comment again:

- 👬🏼 150 daily follows. The same thing with follows — you can only follow 150 Medium users in 24-hour period.
And today I reached one more limit — whenever I try to publish the draft submitted on “Short/Long. Sweet. Valuable.”, I get this error:

Right now I don’t know if it’s a publication or user-related limit. 🤷♂️
I will try to contact Medium’s support to find out what is happening here and maybe they can raise the limits in my specific case. But for now, kindly please DO NOT submit drafts here and follow the “self-publish first” approach. 👍
“Self-Publish First” Method
As I wrote before, this is the best way to submit your story here:
- 🚫 First, publish the story by selecting the “No publication” option.
- ✏️ Click Edit the story and only then submit it to “Short. Sweet. Valuable” or “Long. Sweet. Valuable”.
- ✔️ Then I will review the story and add it to the publication, or leave a note with suggested improvements.
I get no error when publishing stories that are using this method! 🙃
By the way, I have to follow these steps myself, because this article (that you are reading right now) also can’t be published straight from the draft. A bit ironic but it is what it is. 🌞
Outro
You live and learn. Or like Winston Churchill once said:
To improve is to change; to be perfect is to change often.
I’m pretty sure that soon we will overcome all the temporary challenges and… will continue to grow together! 👨🏻👩🏻👦🏻👦🏻
Best wishes,
