Do Dogs Like Poetry?
A canine critic with discerning taste

My dog thinks he’s human ears perked, listening hard he sits proud and straight as we sit by the fire with Eliot and Yeats
when I ask his opinion he looks off far taking his time but he seems most alert during Lawrence unrhymed
if he drifts off to sleep, legs pumping about truncated noises, as though trying to shout miniature barks where little comes out I tell him he’s fine, as I would a child then find my place and keep reading a while
As always, thanks for reading…
