I prefer digital products over physical products. Simple products with more profit margin.

I have a shop selling physical products. I have a large profit margin for these categories. But I don’t have complete control over it.

Problems that arise from selling Physical Products:

Unknown Delivery Timings, High Cost of Production, Material Cost, Extra Cost for Overseas Payments

Physical products have their own advantages and disadvantages.

Physical Products Vs Digital Products

There are two things that worry me about my music store (physical products):

  1. I have to rely on a third party for product production and delivery.
  2. A large amount goes to a third party instead of going into my pockets.
  3. Delivery times can be tough. If you sell globally, then you will encounter problems like packages missing or the wrong address (yes, this happens too!). and worse, if any customer has to pay extra to receive their courier.
  4. There are actually many hidden costs involved.

My Two Gumroad stores -

I have been selling ebooks for a very long time. I started with Amazon KDP and then later published my books on different marketplaces and libraries. And now I am selling directly to my audience through my Gumroad Store.

I have a second Gumroad store too.

I mostly concentrate on ebooks because that’s what I know. I also sell Google Sheets. You can find them here. I am thinking of experimenting with other digital products as well.

Types of Digital Products you can sell -

It shouldn’t be only ebooks or any one type of digital product. I will advise you to go for various combinations and see what your customers like.

  8. and so on.

I have mostly involved myself with ebooks and Google Sheets. Maybe in the future, I will add more related products. There are so many free tools to start with, and the possibility of making money here is endless.
