I’m not one for calling people out. I believe in a diversity of opinion, especially if thems opinions agrees with me.

However I feel compelled, nay, catapulted to share an exchange I had with some White, Privileged, Entitled person going by the name of ‘Seriously Yo.’ I’m assuming they are all the things I’ve listed as why else would they disagree with me? Fucking Boomers.

Here are the highlights of the exchange. I’ve not included the context, as obviously that’s unnecessary.

Anyway, I would say the exchange is like me being the Ukraine and them being Russia, but I won’t.

Me: ….Mind you, you can’t say that anymore innit.

S.Y. (Seriously Yo): You’ve just said it. So what are you talking about?

Me: Freedom of expression.

SY: What about freedom of expression?

Me: There is none.

S.Y.: Well there is, you just proved it.

Me: Ok. Maybe that was a bad example, but there’s plenty of other things you’re not allowed to say.

S.Y.: How do you know?

Me: People have said.

S.Y.: Do these people give examples of what you are apparently not allowed to say?

Me: Yeah.

S.Y.: So then there is freedom of expression.

Me: There isn’t. There are no longer any platforms supporting freedom of expression.

S.Y.: How do you know?

Me: They tell me so on GB News, TalkTV, Fox News…

S.Y.: Well….

Me: Don’t gaslight me! I’ve not finished. Youtube, Twitter, Facebook….

S.Y.: You….

Me: Not finished! And that, er, clock one…

S.Y.: TikTok?

Me: Yes, that as well.

S.Y.: You’ve just provided evidence that there are platforms supporting freedom of expression.

Me: There isn’t freedom of expression. People get “offended.”

S.Y.: Did you just gesture quotation marks around the word “offended’ when you said, “People get offended”?

Me: Yeah.

S.Y.: Why?

Me: Freedom of expression.

S.Y.: Oh, kay…. So, you were saying?

Me: Heteronormativist!

S.Y.: I beg your pardon?!?

Me: Sorry, I’ll save that for something else. Anyway, the point I was making was that if people get “offended” there is no freedom of expression.

S.Y.: Sometimes people get offended by what people say. Sometimes people get offended by what people do. That’s life.

Me: How is it? It shuts down freedom of expression.

S.Y.: Freedom of expression doesn’t’ mean freedom from any consequences. For example, murder is illegal…..

Me: Is it though? Soldiers.

S.Y.: Can we please stick to one philosophical argument at a time?

Me: I’m just saying innit.

S.Y.: Even though murder is illegal people still commit murder. If someone is caught having committed the crime they will face consequences.

Me: You don’t half talk some shit.

S.Y.: You can’t say that.
