Day Tripping: September 21
A different Groundhog Day?

Born in 1950, Bill Murray celebrates 71 years today. We can be sure with Bill, every day hasn’t been like all the others. After creating a persona as one of the best deadpan comedians, Murray has stretched his talents to become an accomplished dramatic actor.
“People are like music, some speak the truth and others are just noise.”
Considered by some aloof, Bill Murray is often found at the centre of fun, popping up where you least expect him. In his films, he presents believability no matter what the role. Perhaps his real work as a golf caaddy as a teenager helped Bill with his breakout role in Caddyshack.
Today is:
Peace Day — We could use more of these days. How about every day?
Pecan Cookie Day — We can always use more cookies
Musical Ride
Earth, Wind, and Fire’s song September from 1978 features the line “Do you remember the night of 21st September?”, apparently only because it sounded good.
Interesting Notes
In 1970, the very first game of Monday Night Football was played between the New York Jets and the Cleveland Browns. Neither team has had much success since.
Gone But Not Forgotten
One of the world’s greatest bass players, Jaco Pastorius was a member of the group, Weather Report who went on to work with Pat Metheny and Joni Mitchell. He died in 1987 at 35, after suffering injuries in a fight outside a nightclub.
