Day Tripping: October 12
The Showman

Born in Sydney, Australia in 1967, Hugh Jackman is the fourth child of British parents. After graduating from college, Hugh took a one-year acting course but thought of it only as a hobby. He never considered the possibility of a career in entertainment.
“In life, you don’t regret the things you do, you regret the things you don’t do.”
Jackman’s wife was against him taking his breakthrough role as Wolverine in X-Men. But Hugh immersed himself, studying the habits of wolves and the rage in fighters like Mike Tyson. In the film, he insisted on performing his own stunts.
With the massive success of the X-Men franchise, Jackman was afforded the freedom to return to musical theatre where he could display his enormous talents.
