Born to two Chicago teachers in 1943, Sam Shepard spent his teenage years working on a ranch. After moving to New York in 1963, he joined an experimental stage company and began writing plays.

To say Sam Shepard remained prolific as a playwright, would be like saying the Beatles wrote a few good songs. The archives with his material are split between 27 boxes at Texas State University, and 30 more boxes at the Harry ransom Center at Texas University.
His acting role in The Right Stuff as pilot Chuck Yeager may have been influenced by the fact Sam’s father was a bomber pilot during WW II.

The Parker Brothers toy company released the board game, Monopoly in 1935. Based on areas of Atlantic City, the Marvin Gardens property is actually misspelled from the real Marven Gardens.
Gone But Not Forgotten
Jill Clayburgh had a long and varied acting career, receiving two Oscar nominations and three Golden Globes. She won the Cannes Film Festival Best Actress Award for her starring role in An Unmarried Woman. Jill Clayburgh died in 2010 at 66.
