“H-Hey everybody! It’s me…Oh, Boy!
A short film by Walt Disney called Steamboat Willie was released in 1928, the first animation made with synchronized sound. The cartoon’s story was written as a spoof of Buster Keaton’s Steamboat Bill Jr.
Although it was the third appearance by Mickey Mouse, it was the first to get distribution. So as a result, the simple design of two small black circles on top of one larger one became Michael Theodore ‘Mickey’ Mouse’s official birthday.
Musical Ride
The first major act to live stream for 20 minutes was in 1994 with the Rolling Stones from the Cotton Bowl in Dallas. The band was promoting their pay-per-view concert, but unfortunately, in 1994 there were few computers able to stream the webcast.
