Steve Martin was born in 1945 in Waco, Texas, and went on to write for the Smothers Brothers in the sixties. Not only is he a Mark Twain Prize for humour, but also a Grammy Award winner.

Steve’s filmography includes comedy classics Planes, Trains, and Automobiles, Dead Men Don’t Wear Plaid, and The Three Amigos. A regular host on Saturday Night Live and longtime standup comedian, Martin is also an art collector.

Musical Ride
Paul McCartney suggested to his friend Micael Jackson he should invest in music publishing rights. Three years later in 1985, Jackson called Paul to tell him bought the rights to 250 Lennon-Mccartney songs from the Beatles catalogue.
McCartney initially doesn't believe it, thinking it’s a prank. When he learned the truth it was the end of their friendship.
Interesting Notes
The great power blackout that darkened the northeast United States and central Canada occurred in 2003. The cause was traced back to a system failure in Ohio that kept people in the dark for days.
In these parts, there was a lot of free beer being poured that night.
Gone But Not Forgotten
William Randolph Hearst was a newspaper magnate and the man whose life story is the influence for Orson Welles’ Citizen Kane. HIs newspapers popularized the sensational which was dubbed yellow journalism.
Hearst died in 1951 at the age of 88.
