Day 1–5 of My 90-Day Growth Quest

How much transformation can I generate in 90 days?

“I learned this, at least, by my experiment: that if one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours.” — Henry David Thoreau

I’m in the launch phase of a 90-day self-actualization quest. Every three days, I’ll post what has been implemented and ‘locked in’ for the 90 days with a summary at the end as to how it’s all working out.

Below are my first five days. It’s an excellent start! Onward —

Day 1 (8/14/23)

1- Off phone by 9:45pm and lights out, falling asleep by 10pm at least 5 days per week

  • Already, 10pm is sort of normal for me. But I get into periods of staying up late, and it affects my wake up time, energy, productivity, not to mention my longevity. No more. My intention is 95% follow through

2- Increased lat pull down station to Level 9, 10, and 11

  • When I started doing this exercise last year, I started at Level 7 and could barely do Level 9. Last month or so I’ve been doing Level 8, 9, 10

3- As fall asleep think back on 7 highlight moments from my day

  • This is something I do quite often, but now and then I just fall asleep too fast or skip it. I recommitted to seven nightly.

Day 2 (8/15/23)

4- Give 3 answers to “What do I love and deeply appreciate about my life just the way it is?” and “What is in the process of manifesting in my life today, right now, that I’m so excited about?”

  • This is after my morning shower. I usually say ‘There are so many things I love and appreciate about my life just the way it is and I’m so excited about what is coming my way.” But I have found that asking and answering the question with feeling takes it to a whole new level.

5- Make sure to have at least 3 big laughs during the day

  • Being an adult can turn into serious business. This is a reminder from two sources that inspired this to make sure to laugh every day. If I do this, I’m probably enjoying people and the journey more as a mentality.

6- End my morning meditation with seven higher thoughts

7- Do a 5–15m visualization at 1:45pm

  • Started with visualizing $25,000+ in my restarted Robinhood account and then fell asleep, butt I’ll visualize 5 things during this time each day

Day 3 (8/16/23)

8- Read my 2023 goals with feeling in the present tense right after waking up and right before falling asleep

9- Established a foundational thought, wrote it on an index card and placed it at my computer — “I am so happy and thankful that I do what I love and receive over $10,000 monthly!”

  • This has been a long time goal to combine the two as my reality — and it’s now a must and not just a wish. I’ll direct my thoughts and mental and physical efforts towards materializing this and far more.

10- Commit to being 10 minutes early for appointments

  • Used to get places late by 15 minutes. Up to now, I’m sort of mainly right on time with little to spare. I’ll now shift to being early

11- Started taking sublingual B12 supplement for energy

12- Study Italian for 5–10 minutes (around 1:30pm if possible)

  • For 20 years there’s an Italian instruction book that I’ve stopped and started on, and now I’ll finally complete it (about 3 pages daily) and persist with other materials until I’m fluent in Italian

13- Made 30lbs my new baseline dumbbell weight

  • Has been 25lbs and occasionally 27.5lbs for months at the gym — for shoulder rolls, bicep curls, overhead lifts

Day 4 (8/17/23)

14- Read and comment on at least 2 stories on Medium

  • Leaving a sincere, well-thought out comment on an article of interest is a valuable growth strategy, and it exposes my mind to new perspectives and gets me out of being ‘me’ and ‘my results’ focused on Medium

15- Be fully present with someone at the start of an interaction and connect with them from a consciousness of reverence

  • It’s easy to interact with people without taking time to just really be present with them soul to soul in a state of quiet reverence. It may seem silly to only plan on one person and just at the start of the interaction, but I think with that mentality each day it will spread

16- Put index card in my car that reads “I’m so happy and thankful that I’ve successfully manifested over $100,000 in a 90 day period in an absolutely fulfilling and delightful way” and committed to reading it with feeling 2–3xs a day while driving

17- Take 5 minutes to plan my next day before bed

  • Sometimes I plan, sometimes I just know the main things for my day and sort of choose the rest on the fly. Not ideal. I’m committing here before bed to establish a plan for my next day. To start, just a list, but I’ll look for a system that is more sophisticated related to my purpose, values, life areas and top goals and evolve it through the 90 days

Day 5 (8/18/23)

18- Made a decision to keep things simple and focus adding an income source to my tennis coaching business and using the same business name rather than creating a new, creative tennis business name and starting a social media page and building a platform. Although the latter, might satisfy my creative side, simplicity and my $10K monthly goal led me to this decision for now.

  • Took the necessary actions to renew the domain and transfer it to GoDaddy where I’ll rebuild the site with the same business name.

19- Finish eating at least 2 hrs before bed

  • Important for having more energy so I’m not digesting food while I sleep. If it turns out I’m not able to get home to eat in time for this, then I’ll just eat something like like a salad or small smoothie or nothing

20- Chew food thoroughly (until liquid and breathing calmly)

  • Seems trivial of not obsessive, but this will give me more energy by making digestion more efficient, and I’ll also enjoy the food more

21- Study 1 Pilot episode per week

+One of my main goals if not my main priority beyond my daughter and family and my health is to write a world-class, epic dramedy streaming series. In service of that, I’ll commit to studying one Pilot per week — watching it, rewatching it and breaking the scenes down, etc.

Day 1–5 Summary

Nothing earth shattering has changed yet in my life as a result of all of these tiny shifts. I do, however, feel very intentional, and this strong sense that I’m leaning into a whole new destiny, like a train is starting to pull out of the station. I’m pleased with my sleep habits and wealth thoughts.

Probably the best decision of my week was selling my Bitcoin investment, which was 70% of my portfolio at no loss, before it took a massive dive. It was part instinct and part reaching out to an experienced investor friend for his instincts. I acted decisively and avoided losses.

In the coming week, I’ll implement more focus in my business endeavors and be even more disciplined about waking up early. I’m also going to emphasize more the feeling states I want to feel and exude. Might as well enjoy the feeling reality I desire now and bring this to others.

Couldn’t be more pleased with the start to my 90-Day Growth Quest!

Now, what shifts to make tomorrow on Day 6?
