Current GOP Includes Mostly Hypocritical RINOs
RINO (Republican In Name Only) used to indicate sometimes leaning Democrat. Now it means authoritarianism & tyranny.

Intro
In my first election, I picked Lyndon Johnson, the worst president I ever voted for. He was in over his head with the mishandling of Vietnam.
For the next election, I had to register with a party to vote in the primary. I picked Republican because they stood for:
— Law & Order
— Fiscal Responsibility
Unfortunately, that is no longer true.
What’s Changed
They are no longer the party of law and order. Although claiming to be patriotic, they tried to overturn the Constitution of the United States.
Article 2, section 1 states, “The President of the Senate shall, in the Presence of the Senate and House of Representatives, open all the Certificates, and the Votes shall then be counted.” People were carrying a noose and screaming, “Hang Mike Pence.” By hanging Mike Pence, the president of the Senate, they were trying to overthrow this clause of the Constitution. Fortunately, they did not succeed.
Some Republicans have claimed that Jan 6 was a “peaceful demonstration by tourists.” As I watched flag poles flying through the air like spears, I immediately thought of the dark side of Hägar the Horrible, the comic strip character attacking homes.
Senate and House Republicans condoning such actions through their speeches, actions, and voting history would rather dump the Constitution than let the Democrats win anything. They prefer to allow such things to continue by voting against all Jan 6 propositions in Congress.
I often wondered how Hitler came to power. I’m sure he had his enablers in the 1930s, like the Congress and Trump today. It would make an interesting study to see if there are any similarities.
As for fiscal responsibility, they are better than the Democrats, although they have their own versions of stupidity. The border wall is a great example. Walls don’t work, from the Great Wall of China, the Berlin Wall, and the US Border wall. People always get around them. I watched people climb a wall at the capitol during the Jan 6 insurrection.
In addition, they are changing the laws in a horrible way. Republican-led states are passing laws that promote extortion, torture, and vigilantism. The article about how the Texas abortion law does that is in References at the bottom.
They are passing voting laws reminiscent of Jim Crow, except now they aim to suppress non-republican voters. I haven’t read any of those laws yet to see if the stories are true.
Then, they can claim to support law and order.
I was going to write an article about how the GOP has been taken over by RINOs (Republican In Name Only), not the usual representative voting with the Democrats, but the ones who no longer respect law and order and are no longer as fiscally responsible as claimed.
I planned to provide many examples, but Ryan Zaharako beat me to it. The list is fascinating. His article link is under References at the bottom of this article.
Trump’s Destructive Influence
Donald Trump has replaced Lyndon Johnson as the worst president I ever voted for. His handling of COVID was far worse than Johnson’s handling of the Vietnam war, and Johnson did not attempt an overthrow of the Constitution.
Who knows how many deaths his poor leadership caused and are still causing. He left such a horrible mess of distrust that Biden has little chance of reversing the damage.
In 2020, I would have voted for anybody but him in the primary and main elections. I suspect that many other republicans unexpectedly switched votes and that is why he lost. I’m just glad that Sanders did not win the Democratic primary.
Conclusion
I’m still staying with the Republican party. The Democrats, even when they have a good idea, add so much unrelated junk that it is doomed to fail. Their implementation rarely works as projected and they are still far more fiscally irresponsible than the Republicans.
Finally, Florida Senators Rubio and Scott have shown their lack of ethics by putting the party above the Constitution. I will vote for anybody running against them in the Republican primary, and the Democrat running against them if they win their primary.
However, I would prefer that their future actions give me a reason to change my mind.
