Crosby Canyon to Warm Creek Bay from John Carter’s Movie

Letter #44 Part 2 of 3 Reply to James Edward Young

Photo by Author, Love (Crosby Canyon to Warm Creek Bay, Utah)

Where grand gestures are reserved for romantic relationships, one man decided to break the mold and take his friendship to the next level.

On bended knee, Medium author James Edward Young proposed a bond of friendship. To seal this bond, we would write to each other on this platform.

I hope you can stop by and spend some time reading our letters. I am not quite sure if our life stories are your cup of tea; however, I am sure you will bust out a giggle, fall to the floor and laugh out loud, fart, pee on yourself, have a stomachache from laughing or, like me, often cry with tears of joy.

Who knows?

Maybe, just maybe, the world will witness more friendship proposals on bended knee-and a whole lot of love.

A link will be provided below for all other past letters between James and Love as we now are letter #44 Part 2 of 3.

We hope you enjoy our unique Friendship journey!

Dear James and Joan,

Are you both still enjoying this tour? Crosby Canyon is located in Utah, USA, one of the filming locations for the 2012 Disney movie “John Carter,” which was based on Edgar Rice Burrough’s novel “A Princess of Mars.” The canyon provided a backdrop that closely resembled the desolate and rugged terrain of Mars, as depicted in the novel. It’s unique red rock formations and vast desert landscapes helped create an alien and otherworldly setting for the movie’s action, playing into the narrative of John Carter’s adventures on the Martian surface. The natural beauty and isolation of Crosby Canyon contributed to the film’s visual effects. This was also the setting for the movie “Maverick” in 1994.

The drive through the canyon was so much fun, by the way, on a 4-cyclinder, Tacoma truck. It is an off-road trail near Big Water, Utah, and ends in Warm Creek Bay on the southernmost section of Lake Powell. As you come out of the canyon, there’s a variety of sandy road trails that can lead to the access of the lake.

I think our Tacoma truck is just loving all the attention now.

James, continuing on with your letter #43 to me.

You’re right, talking about politics just makes me angry because I could run the world perfectly, but no one is listening to me. I often joke about if I do that or if I do this I could rule the world. That would be an interesting concept. What would you do if you could rule the world. Oh my gosh, I don’t think I would be very good at ruling the world. I just started thinking about what I do and that was awful. I think I’ll just stick to telling stories on Medium. That’s what I love doing the most anyway. I love the world of pretend. I pretend constantly. One time, I remember dreaming that I was pretending to pretend. I woke up screaming and pretended that didn’t happen. I think my pretend world got a little bit out of hand when it started turning real. That happened when I was about 15 years old and had cars and girls on my mind. If you added rock ’n’ roll into the mix you have one out-of-control loose cannon. I was definitely a handful for my mom and dad. I look back on the tortures that I put those two beautiful people through and I am sorry to my core. But at the time I had an awful lot of fun.

That would be such an interesting concept. So, James, how would you fix the US of A? What would you do if you ruled the world? I am sure the answer will be hilarious! I was going to tag Pres. Obama but I am afraid he would actually read our content. That would be hilarious if he joined in and just sat with us by a campfire and talked. It would be awesome, don’t you think?

Dude, you mentioned when you were 15 years old that you had cars, girls on your mind, and rock ’n’ roll. You’re that perfect bad bouy eveyone girl wants to be with huh! You must have thought you were so cool. Share some pics when you were a teenager, that would be so cool if you could share them.

Then you wrote:

When I was a kid, I was friends with a very dangerous guy. Well, at least he thought he was dangerous. His name was Ron and he wasn’t dangerous at all. I think you just want to appear dangerous for some reason but I was the sort of guy that thought all of his tough guy demeanor was hilarious. We definitely played rough. He was always holding a knife up to my throat which cracked me up because he would never hurt me. One time Ron and Keith and I were exploring the woods and Ron, who had fallen back, had a gun and was shooting over our heads in our direction. We could hear bullets whistling through the leaves above us. He was just angry hung over. Kieth and I were giving him the business for being such a weak tit who couldn’t handle booze,so he decided to let us hear his rifle a few times . He never would have actually shot close to us but he had a flair for the dramatic. We played in his backyard with brooms that we had soaked in gasoline. We jousted and threw them at each other like spears. Once we decided to go out in the middle of the night dressed like ninjas and hide from oncoming cars . Don’t ask why little boys do what they do. We had no frontal lobe. Young boys can’t help their impulsive behavior. Besides, young boys should be watched very carefully because everybody knows how we are. When young boys act out, it is not the fault of the young boys. It’s the parent’s fault. The children can never be blamed for their impulsive behavior. Yeah, that’s the ticket, we were not responsible for what happens next. Somebody should have been watching us .

WHAT! It’s the parent’s fault for not watching you! Bad boy syndrome. You are a handful. Joan, I can feel what you go through every day, can you imagine coming home and the house is upside down? Just cause James thought it would be awesome to have a camp fire and tent in the living room! The kitchen! OMG! I can imagine that when he cooks, does he cook up a bean storm? Ewww, he must fart all day and all night too!

James, you had a wonderful childhood, man! I am jealous! Well, here we all are, enjoying every childhood memory! Love them James, keep them coming.

Here are a few more pictures from Crosby Canyon. I hope you are enjoying these pictures. I am building a portfolio on Unsplash (https://unsplash.com/@lovephotoroom), perhaps you and our readers can use some of the pictures I have posted.
