The Weekend Trip to YA’AT’ TEEH (The Spirit of God)
Replying to James Edward Young, Part 1 of 3 of Letter #44

Where grand gestures are reserved for romantic relationships, one man decided to break the mold and take his friendship to the next level.
On bended knee, Medium author James Edward Young proposed a bond of friendship. To seal this bond, we would write to each other on this platform.
I hope you can stop by and spend some time reading our letters. I am not quite sure if our life stories are your cup of tea; however, I am sure you will bust out a giggle, fall to the floor and laugh out loud, fart, pee on yourself, have a stomachache from laughing or, like me, often cry with tears of joy.
Who knows?
Maybe, just maybe, the world will witness more friendship proposals on bended knee-and a whole lot of love.
A link will be provided below for all other past letters between James and Love as we now are letter #44.
We hope you enjoy our unique Friendship journey!
Letter #44, Part 1 of 3
January 30, 2024
Dear James and Joan,
Yes, I am a real person! Oh, hello you both! I thought I would surprise you with some photos I took while on my spiritual trip last weekend to thank our Navajo ancestors. (Please forgive me my Native American friends, I was not able to get the right italics as my laptop did not have the features for the extra italics)
Let’s take a drive, shall we?
The Spirit of God, YA’ AT TEEH, at Monument Valley Tribal Park.
Navajo Name: Tse’ Bii’Ndzisgaii (Tsee-bee-ni-zees-kay)
Taken from www.monumentvalley.com
The entire Navajo reservation covers one-third of the 130,000-square-mile Colorado Plateau. The Navajo Nation, among its 29,817 square miles of endless geological wonders, lies in a hidden valley that John Wayne calls "God's Treasure.” Monument Valley sits at 5,564 feet above sea level. The park extends into Arizona and Utah, covering about 91, 696 acres. The height of the monument ranges from 100 feet to 1,500 feet. This dry desert climate receives all four seasons.
This is a place where time stands still.
The people who live inside the “Tse-Bii-Ndzisgii” (the valley within the rock) have long sustained life through simple living. The land was their canvas for the great circle of life.

There are two trails, Wildcat trail and Lee Cly trail which begins from the Visitor Center. That’s a scenic 3.3-mile loop around the West Mitten Butte. The trail winds through desert country alongside washes and sandy slopes offering spectacular views of the rock monuments from the valley floor.
On your last letter, you wrote, James:
Dear love, Well, here it is Saturday. This is my favorite day of the week because on Saturday morning I get to watch Buck Rogers and some excellent cartoons. TCM is just like going to the kiddie matinee on Saturday morning. The cartoons are ancient Popeye cartoons. The kind that are in black-and-white, when Popeye was funnier. Also, I can catch up on Buck Rogers, still trying to save the universe. He always gets himself into one “mell of a hess” each week as he is thrown into life-threatening situations. Such a cruel world that I have to wait till next week to find out if he makes it out alive.. Your reaction to what I told my mother about oral sex was priceless. I was reading the story about your mother and how you mom was behaving right after your father’s death in 2005.
I love Saturdays too, you know. NON workday! Weekend day! I can wake up without the alarm clock or a meeting from work…Yes, I love Saturdays. I think when I retire, every day will be called Saturday! HAHAHA!!!
So, you watch cartoons on Saturday mornings. I like reading as I have maybe 3–4 books I am reading at the same time. Yah, I read multiple books at the same time, not finishing them because I want them to last me my whole lifetime! Can you imagine when I found out I could read billions of stories for $5 a month? It is Christmas every day for me; each narrative piece is like a gift from the universe! You and Joan are like gifts every day! Everyone does not have the idea that you also write to me an additional 2–3 times via email. You both are a gift the universe gave to us; our friendship will be talked about for generations to come! I dunno about your poop stories though.
Did you know that the army has bunkers buried where our soldiers need to go take number 2 together! Yup buried bunker…Can you imagine if someone just lighting a roll? Oh, my word!
Then you wrote:
I think she was trying to be humorous or cute when she was actually going crazy being locked in her mind over your father’s death. She obviously loved him immensely. Your dad really valued Playboy magazines didn’t he. He valued them so much that he kept them in a safe. When I was a kid, I kept my dirty magazines under a drawer so you had to remove the drawer to see them. Pardon me for a moment, I was just reminiscing. The custom of men getting everything, and women get nothing when someone passes is a shitty deal. This unfair custom has probably been handed down since we were wild beasts feeding on a kill. The lioness kills the antelope, but the alpha male eats first. Next, the lioness eats and then the rest of the tribe. It could be instinct that the good stuff goes to the male. I think if I was a woman, I would be amused that nature felt the need to give me any extra rewards. It’s as though the great spirit beyond is trying to compensate for making man such a complete idiot. So let man have everything the world wants to give him. Women have something way more valuable. The life of every living thing on this planet in the form of a human came from her. Try closing the doors on that a see what happens to all mankind.
My mom, bless her heart, got a kick if she could stir anything up. I would like to think she was having fun watching us with all the Playboy magazines flowing like a waterfall on us and we did not even know what they were and why my brother leaped on them and claimed all of them. Lucky bugger. All the time! We go shopping at the store for school supplies; my youngest brother gets to buy the toys he wants; we have to show grades above B before we can buy any knik knacks. I was into stationery back then, from sixth grade through 3rd year high, until of course our focus shifted on senior year to all the varsity sports so I could leave off property and see other boys at other schools.
NOT!!!
My strict mother made it a point if I had a game, she would send someone to chaperone me! Chaperone James and Joan!!! I was 14 years old and I was chaperoned everywhere. To the movies, to my first school dance, and guess who was my chaperone?
Freakin DAD!
Hope you enjoyed Part 1 of 3 of letter #44. This is an epic one, as you guessed. Check out Reacher on Prime too James and Joan. There are two seasons released.
