How to Create and Distribute Newsletters on Twitter with Revue
Introducing a new mailing list builder and newsletter distributor

Background and Context
Marketing is a critical requirement for writers’ growth.
As top writer Karen Madej articulates it wisely, “Nobody ever got anywhere by being shy and waiting to be discovered.”
In November, I posted an article about the utmost importance of mailing lists and newsletters for writers. Since then, many writers have started creating their mailing lists and presenting their newsletters to their subscribers.
I offered all our writers to submit a story introducing their newsletters. You can still submit a story to ILLUMINATION or SYNERGY about your newsletters.
We also have a channel in our Slack workspace for newsletter promotions. I created a Google spreadsheet collecting details of newsletters. You can access the spreadsheet and add your details to our Slack group.
Since I have already highlighted the significance of newsletters for writers, I will not repeat them. The message is clear and loud in the previous post.
Introduction to Revue Mailing and Newsletter Service
In this post, I want to introduce a new service from Twitter. In fact, it is via a newsletter specialist company collaborating with Twitter. It is called the Revue.
A few weeks ago, I came across many tweets about this new service. As usual, some embrace it, and some criticize it.
To me, it is another newsletter alternative free to use.
As a Twitter user, I participated in the program yesterday. I reviewed the service quickly and tested it by creating a new newsletter.
Creating a newsletter with Revue is very easy and intuitive.
The system easily recognizes Medium articles and fetches them in a great format. You don’t need additional plugins. I have other mailing services, and unfortunately, they don’t fetch Medium articles. So, this is a bonus feature of Revue.
I also tested it with a few email addresses. The service is fully automated to handle the subscriber following the mailing rules.
I haven’t transferred my subscribers yet. After further tests, I plan to do shortly.
Here is a sample newsletter that I created using Revue wizard.
If my newsletter resonates with you, please subscribe.
Revue allows charging the subscribers, but I want to keep it a free service for my subscribers.
My purpose is to curate outstanding stories from my publications and distribute them via this newsletter weekly. I offer this as a giveback service to my readers and the Medium and ILLUMINATION writing communities.
Let me provide a brief introduction to Revue site.
The link to the service is https://www.getrevue.co
You need to create a profile by logging on to Twitter.
Here is the dashboard for my account.

On this dashboard, I have one sample issue. This window allows me to edit my newsletter and schedule it for distribution to my subscribers.
Support
Support is done via DM (direct message) on Twitter.

Conclusions
Marketing is essential for all writers.
We also need to build and manage our audience via our mailing lists. The best way of developing relationships with readers is by offering them free newsletters.
If you become an accomplished writer and provide outstanding service, you may convert your subscribers to your paying customers.
Revue supports both the free and paid subscription model. Revue is a new service on Twitter, but I believe it will pick up shortly.
Thank you for reading my perspectives.
