Crazy Little Twittle

Haiku Saved The Day — My Superpower

Image by Gerd Altmann from Pixabay

Twittle #1

what is a Twittle? a poem with 100 letters for Haikus I count a few syllables you prefer I count letters?

Twittle#1 is my first attempt at a Twittle. I used an online character counter but soon realized the damn thing was counting everything, spaces, punctuations, etc. Then, I read Carolyn’s definition and numbers are not included in the count, ahhh man.

Ok, so I rewrote the Twittle to the one below, Twittle#2. After removing all the spaces and typing out 100, I made a few small tweaks and the letter counter worked. Exactly 100 alphabetic letters, punctuations and spaces are extra.

Twittle #2

what’s a Twittle? a poem with exactly one hundred characters with Haiku I count syllables Carolyn prefers I count letters?

After that brain teaser, I decided to switch back into my lane. The Haiku is the comfort zone, so I wrote one about the little Twittle that almost drove me insane, lol.

Haiku To Save The Day

a Twittle per day best way to drive me crazy haiku not so much.

my superpower? no flying or speed involved I use only words.

I quite enjoyed this challenge, and it made me realize that Haiku are my superpower. Let’s combine our superpowers to create more of these challenges. Twittles and Haiku unite — poetry power.

Carolyn Hastings this was a fun little brain tease. Please let me know if I did too much thinking, as I am still not sure which Twittle is correct. I am glad I decided to take the leap into this world. Thank you.

Thank you Dr. Preeti Singh for tagging me in this prompt. You can read her lovely Twittle song here:

Thank you Carolyn Hastings for such a brain-teasing challenge. I look forward to reading and writing more Twittles, maybe I will include them with my Haiku. You can read a few of Carolyn’s Twittles below, they are her superpower:

The original superpower prompt was created by Lucy Dan 蛋小姐 (she/her/她) you can read her piece here:

I would like to tag a few members of the tribe, so here I go: William J Spirdione| Alice Floris | Patrick M.
