Congressional Election Games: MagaJohnson Cosplays “God’s Lips”
Yo, the 118th Congress is back in session. And as soon as Christmas break was over, Willy Wonker fell into a vat of chocolate or something. Yep, we were only a day or two into the new year and there was MagaJohnson standing somewhere near the Texan border complaining about how the border was opened and hoards of people are pouring over it. Not only that, but MagaJohnson stood there erectly, and declared that the border would be closed or there would not be a payment on what we owe on what we already spent. Sorta looked like that guy trying to hold up a bank by putting a gun to his head and shouting, “give me your money or I’ll shoot.”
In that same demand for recognition, MagaJohnson threatened to reduce domestic spending. I just do not get the math. Defaulting on our debt for shit we already bought from the Amazon of Government War Toys and Hood Essentials is going to result in paying higher interest rates on what we still owe. The interest rates we’re already paying are annually notably higher than everything we shell out for domestic improvements. So Congressional geniuses want to cost us more money in interest in order to punish people who are in the process of building generational wealth, so they get to keep theirs? So, they get to bank the share migrants would generate by building something you can’t? No? Surely you wouldn’t be doing this stupid shit to get even with Joe Biden, would you? Not even if your favorite Geoffrey ordered you to bend the knee? What would happen Mikey? Would the Truth get out about your secret life as Wormtongue? Would your total lack of experience or capacity be limply exposed by another Truth? That wouldn’t make you dysfunctional would it?
One of the Congressional delegates stated flatly that he would not vote for any measure which would address the problem at the border because solving any border crisis would be an aid to Joe Biden. Is that the same reason that bunch of White Walkers in Congress are trying to infect the unwary with Christian ideals of loyalty to the clan, by demonstrating ideological purity? Well, at least those are a few of the limited Christian ideals which coincide with whatever White Walkers perceive as real, to be as charitable as possible. But then ideals are more like a warm quilt on a cold winter’s night, than righteous justification for demands for religious rule of the state. The last time we had crusades the most devout of the theocrats murdered the banking class, even though the banking class underwrote the power the theocrats enjoyed. That story is also told as the time the Pope wiped out the Knights Templar.
The present crusade to battle back those who would invite the wrath of God so as to save the economic superiority of the theocracy by sabotaging the strongest economy in the world, which they currently own. That made my head hurt to even write that, so I apologize for subjecting you to that pain, but that is how I heard what Speaker MagaJohnson said when he was down on the border the other day. I get that he was cosplaying his parochial view of what an important world renowned statesman would do to leverage a fluke jealous lovers’ quarrel into one of the most influential seats in the most powerful governments on the entire globe. But damaging the good will of the US business trust on the global market does not seem to be a well-considered pathway to attenuating a human migration event which is quite out of the current reach of any government’s ability to control by executive order. Even the current legislation proposed to fund some relief for the people charged with enforcement of the laws the Congress passes, cannot stop the flow of migrants from their place of origin.
That flow comes from a huge land mass which stretches from the northern reaches of the Amazon River which is different than the Amazon you got that Duck You figurine for your Uncle Walter last Christmas. That’s a lot of land and all the people who live in all that land do not have all the wonders of the US civilization you enjoy, but they do have smartphones with internet connections to YouTube and TikTok and WhatsApp and Telegram and even, god forbid, X (formerly known as Twitter). You know what else? Not one of their mama’s raised up no fools. All those mother’s sons look at those images on their smartphones and say, “There ain’t one single house in Los Estados Unidos which is as bad as the one I live in. Some people make it up there and then they make it up there. Yeah, that’s better than what I can ever see me doing here. So adios, amigos.”
You can’t really blame them.
If MagaJohnson was actually interested in the actual problem he is supposedly solving, he’d probably be aware that Mexico is becoming the Chinese outsourcing destination of choice. This is where it gets pretty hard for someone like our hero the Statesman’s Johnson to stand up for practicality and common sense. I know that would be an uphill battle for one unfamiliar with the world outside of his local big tent Republican swingers club, but business is business. There is a growing middle class in those countries south of Texas who have no desire to move to the United States. They like to go to Disney world, but live there? Are you kidding? Mexico is profiting from Chinese outsourcing and China is becoming an influence in Mexico and that is doing more to stem the migration flow to the US than building a wall will ever do.
I don’t know about you, but I have a question about exactly how a demand to string a barbed-wire fence along the northern border will stop the winter winds coming into the US from Canada, any more than hamstringing the US economy will stop a tsunami of migration out of economic despair to a possibility of life as a free man as opposed to a peon to the land. If the border issues could be visualized as the human desire to live decently as the cause for the movement toward the border from where life is much more challenging than it appears to be on a smartphone screen, there could be ways to make life tolerable enough that the risk of traveling alone across half a continent would lose its allure. I wonder if our Statesman’s Johnson has what it takes to address the issues of the human crisis he is charged with overseeing.
Cosplaying in an election year is part of the game, understandably, but this election year is already historically important in significant ways and therefore may not deserve the recitation of divisive rhetoric. Especially not from a wannabe international statesman from Backwater Parish Louisiana who is planning a great escape in a make-believe ark while proclaiming himself to be chosen by God. I’m not saying that the gentleman from Louisiana is stupid, but I am saying he is sadly lacking in experience to be two degrees away from the presidency. Not that the Democratic party is much better, but this is surely not the best or the brightest the Republican caucus can offer to the world as the third highest authority in the United States, unless we’re trying to produce a new show for BBC 1. Congressional Benny Hill, yeah? I think it will be an international hit, don’t you?
