Abstract

desperate spring. As Osiris breathes the dust Of goddess mausoleum lust Timeless relics lost hazy mind Her kiss the flicker of dancing embers as The fire sleeps Ending stories of star people In the fall of early light — changelings Gold to red. As November creeps silently Cracking branches orange brown leaves chirping farewell Pumpkin moon promises Spiced Apple trees Saying goodbye for the last time. mourning chime walnuts upon the frost bitten earth. That midnight flower now unearthed. That snowflake Falling in the hours of a snoring twilight.

© Bradley J Nordell 2022
<p id="

Coming of Winter

A poem of death and rebirth

Photo by Galina N on Unsplash

There are infinities in the swaying bluegrass Jumping crickets at dawn Red smeared lipstick sun Milkweed dew diamonds across the monarch’s Last wing, burning in the twilight star Groaning, desperate spring.
