Wall. Along the seafront and water front, levee walls will need to be built. Will need massive pumps along the shore line in case of disaster.

Natural. Beaches need to be raised. Trees need to be replanted. Barriers and embankments can be used to build raised roads.

How about building some useful luxury super structure rather than concrete.

City perimeter. Instead can use this opportunity to solve transportation and housing and education water problems together. Construct water proof and storm proof buildings on the sea front. With a water channel behind this with high capacity pumps.

Observation decks. Locate premium and government real estate at the water front. Under water seating area and views of coral reefs in front. This way people will stay aware of the environment.

Luxury Towers. Seafront housing or office space at the water’s edge. Trendy malls and movie theatres and community centers. Mini sports stadiums. Music halls. Café restaurants and casinos.

Official Institutions. Internment Centers. Good place to build new universities. Government and law offices. Mass transit systems can be built at the water’s edge on raised elevated transport lines. Convenient transportation Hubs. Autonomous driving story. Coastal Metro story.

Rather than having a dystopian concrete barrier this would be more natural.

Sea Front Perimeter Trail. Alternative Design.

Rather than buildings, have a greenway for community recreation fitness picnics.

Pathway. Along the perimeter wall road. Grassy paths with plants, trees. Trails for biking, boating and skating.

Specialty Healthy or Service Facility every mile along the pathway.

Healthy Facilities. Common greenhouses. Picnic tables with food preparation. Snacks area for a quick stop. Flower and garden facility. Health and healing resort. Fitness park with workout trails. Sports field with mini sports. Senior center with assistance. Small hostel right at the edge.

Service Facilities. Common workshops with tools. Local Flea Market. Public library. Local museum. Music concert stage and hall. Public school and university. Child care and After school activity center. Security, safety and crisis office. Emergency care.

Entire set of community activities where residents can participate and interact. At least the budget for the concrete wall can be used for more interesting things.

Stormy Issues.

A lot of lifestyle and work and culture will be dependent on storms and heat.

During Storm. Need to have safe shelters and keep power running. Need for active communication, transportation and emergency response.

After Storm. Cleaning up and rebuilding.

In Between Storms. Worry about supply chain disruptions. Need to have local resources, local services, local manufacturing and localized designs. Make local health centers more like nature resorts rather than hospitals. Rehab Center story.

Storms will have more intensity, be more widespread and will be more frequent.

City Spaces. Micro environments and microclimates.

The remaining areas outside of office and housing can be green forest spaces.

Interior of cities can be living green spaces. Integrated with the local community and businesses. Places for meetings and recreations. Cafes and hotels. Trails and flowers. Hills and pools. Neighborhood Park story. Cloud Shopping story.

Microclimates with trees and wildlife. With parks and woods and gardens. Small, big and large trees with diversity of plants. Places for migratory birds to stay.

People need a natural setting with normal greenery without going to a resort.

Housing and Supply Chain.

It is not all about work. People need living areas too.

Living Together. Housing Towers with common spaces. Green utopia for community spaces. So no disruptions due to bad weather. In house facilities with common lounges with recreation, fitness, cooking, books, music, tools. Sustainable Housing story.

Independent Supplies. Food Towers with livestock and local greenhouses. Water purification towers with water harvesting. Treatment and recycling of all water resources. Waste treatment and all material recycling. Prepared for disruption in food, water, and energy supplies. Refugee Center story.

People need nice neighborhoods and communities with a feeling of home.

Protection. What kinds of barriers and defenses will be needed. Prepared for catastrophes: Fires or floods. Epidemics or locusts. Heat or freezing. Drought or deluge. Blizzards or tsunamis or earthquakes.

Living and Livelihood.

Industry. Economy. Services. Manufacturing. R&D. Resources industries. How will all this come together again with more efficiency and productivity but fewer resources.

Global. Or would it all be done globally over the Internet and Metaverse. Outsourcing and international supply chains and placement agencies. Smart City Crypto story. Metaverse Enterprises story.

Local. Would you include local manufacturing and services. Local experts and schools. Local research design. Local universities.

Lots of things are changing with climate change. Supply chains, migrations, refugees, energy prices, outsourcing and farming. People can try to deal with it on their own, as an industry, or as a nation. Organizing changes at a city level is just one way. Maybe there is a story.
