Christmas is cancelled in Bethlehem. How can you celebrate?

The birth place of Yeshua being bombed and his kin being displaced.

The parallels between then and now uncanny in all of its ways

The “Massacre of the Innocents” were all boys under age 2 were unalived.

Don’t you remember the story of why Mary fled or is it a figment in your mind?

I have seen babies left for dead and excuses given for why this is ok.

Ashamed we are disregarding this massacre while celebrating a “savior” who escaped the same fate.

We don’t even have the grace to call him by his real name.

We call him a latin version which makes it much more palatable for us to say.

If Yeshua was alive today, his mother would have been sniped in a church

While being provided sanctuary from those who intent is all about a land grab

His earthly father would have been gunned down in the other room

While his family wept and waited for their fate.

Not knowing when the terror will end for them.

For those who share the land of Yeshua birthplace.

There is no peace in Palestine on this very day.

Herod, the king of Judea, empowered by Romans support, seems so familiar to me.

Wait a minute, I know what it is! It looks a lot like Netanyahu and the USA unwavering fidelity.

Herod's forces going door to to door killing every little boy under two.

Now replaced with IDF killing indiscriminately all who happen to be in the vicinity.

Christmas is cancelled in Bethlehem. How can you celebrate?

Watching so many claim its a religious' holiday, while ignoring the destruction of the origin of all that they believe.

The cognitive dissonance that I am witnessing, has me needing therapy.

How can you claim that this Palestine Jew died for all of your sins, then disregard the sins committed in his homeland?

During this season while you connect with the ones you love during this season of cheer.

Remember in Palestine generations of families are currently being wiped out, there is grief and mourning gifted to them for Christmas this year.

If Christmas is about peace to all men, then we all should be in uproar against the abuses committed in his name.

My Why For Writing This:

Watching the atrocities get worst and our Government attempt to justify them. Last night I saw a brother caring for his sibling, a sister in utter dispair as she talks about seeing her sister head under the rubble and a newborn without parents wailing as a doctor cleans and nurtures the baby.

As I look at the atrocities I have struggled to write this since Dec 1st. I have chosen to pen it today, can’t hold these words within myself any longer.

Up until this year, we have celebrated Christmas. We have been in transition as a family pertaining to what holidays we recognize and how celebrate.

This year we were up in the are of how to handle Christmas. It was very easy to stand in solidarity with Palestinian Christians' when they said they would not be having Christmas this year in solidarity with all Palestinians who are experience extremes violence no matter were they are in the country, including Bethlehem.

The genocide taking place in Gaza solidified that for them as we all watched babies, and children being murdered while premature babies being left for dead.

However, these are my thoughts,
