Christ is the Reason For The Season

Merry Christmas and many blessings to all

Christmas is less than three weeks away and there are preparations in motion. Our family is very thankful. Our blessings are great this year. Hubby had a heart attack in June but he is doing well. He is my greatest blessing. Our family has been healthy. Another wonderful blessing. If only the wars could stop… well, I am hopeful always!

There are other kinds of blessings happening… right here on Medium. Right before our very eyes. The secret sauce is working and the shoutouts are multiplying. We are beginning to observe the magic first hand but in case you missed it, here’s what’s happening!

Winston at Coffee Times started the ball rolling with his latest challenge for the community to write about shoutouts.

The community answered his call and the articles began to float down from the heavens onto the written page. Hope was present everywhere and the villagers gathered to read and applaud for the minimum of 1000 claps.

There were many remarkable articles submitted. That was only the beginning of the hopeful magic…

Next, Sam Finlayson submitted an article. The only difference in Sam’s article about shoutouts was that she included another competition writer in her shoutouts. See Sam’s article below about Maria Rattray.

Are you confused yet? I hope you can keep up because I am excited as I am writing about all of these shoutouts!

I was reading the article from Maria but life interrupted me. When I returned, I discovered yet another amazing article written by Donnette Anglin.

Here’s where the magic continues…

After I read the article from Donnette, I put all the shoutouts together and finished reading the following article from Maria.

The article is about a man named James Frank Sanders who is 95 years old and who is still writing here on Medium.

I don’t know about you but before I read an article from James, I was already hopeful. I mean, Frank is 95 and still ‘taking names’. Love it!

I read several articles from Frank and finally settled on the following article to share. It was difficult to choose. I can understand why many others enjoy Frank’s writing style. I am in awe of this man.

The reason for the season is Christ. I am grateful for all of our blessings. The moral of my story? I wanted to weave the blessings of the holiday season with the magic of the shoutout.

Here’s another shoutout to all of my friends and colleagues here at Medium because I thought you would enjoy reading more about the magic sauce and how the shoutout mixes into a recipe for support and community!

The shoutouts began with a selfless writer, Sam Finlayson who helped to make the magic happen. Next, more of the community joined in.

I watched the magic sauce swirl around in the different shoutouts and I watched as the magic began to flow.

I met several new writers along this part of my journey. It’s all so exciting! Every day is a blessing.

Thank you for hanging in there. This week was exciting as I watched the magic of the shoutout in action!

Do you believe in Christmas miracles? I know that I sure do!
