Check These Things Before Pinning a Story to Your Profile’s Top
Easily select a top story that’s perfect for your profile
If you have ever visited someone’s Meidum profile, you will get to see a pinned story at the top of their profile. These are the stories they want to show everyone who visits their profile.
They select their best stories to be on top because they want everyone’s attention on that story to get more views and followers.
But everyone has different stories on their profile’s top. So, how do we know if a story is perfect for a top story or not?
There are some things to check before pinning a story to your profile’s top. Some of them are given below.
A title that attracts readers
Write a title that grabs the reader’s attention and makes them feel like they must read it. It can be a little bit like clickbait, but I can assure you that I am not talking about clickbait. — Let me explain.
For example: If you are want to write about “How to make money with print-on-demand”. There is a great chance that many people will not know what print-on-demand is? And that’s the reason many people will ignore your story.
So instead of writing “How to make money with print-on-demand” you should write “Make money by selling simple designs”. This way, it will attract many people who can make simple designs. It will also attract people who are curious to know that how can somebody make money by selling simple designs.
Make sure to solve a problem
Make sure to solve your reader’s problems Because people will read your story when they see a solution in it. People also read their favorite writer’s success stories. But most people read to find out a solution to their problems.
Every person has a different problem like mental stress, failure in business, health issues, money problems, or some other problems. And they want a solution to it.
So if you want your reader’s attention and want them to read your story, make sure to solve a problem that most people face in their life. You can easily find a common problem and then find a solution to that problem.
Talk to the point
If you want your readers to read through the end. You should always come straight to the point. And make sure that people will not get bored while reading your story because no one has time to read extra things. All they want is a simple solution to their problems or some valuable information.
If you write 300 words of intro without coming to the real problem, your readers will lose interest and leave your story in between. Coming directly to the point also has many other advantages to keep your readers engaged in your stories.
Make easily achievable promises
Many stories have a problem of promising things that you can’t achieve easily. And when you promise a thing that’s not easily achievable. It demotivates your readers instead of motivating them.
So make promises that can be achieved easily. Things that everyone can achieve. It doesn’t only help your reader but also makes him loyal to you.
I have explained some points that will help you choose a perfect story for your profile’s top. These are not the only things to check before pinning a story, you can find out some by reading other writers, you can also find out yourself by experimenting with different things.
