ChatGPT caught Google on the Wrong Foot

How Google does not want to be defeated in the AI Race

Certainly, everyone is talking about ChatGPT and Microsoft has certainly taken a big risk with its investments in the technology, which should now pay off. I had already reported that Microsoft wants to integrate the functions of the chat bot into its Office products and Azure services.

So you can imagine that Google might be a little concerned here, but at least feels the competitive pressure, because it’s not just about a chat bot services, but also about the search engine and also the cloud business, because here such services are either offered to customers as a service or integrated into own services to improve them.

The fact that Google’s management now wants to increase the pace should also affect the subsidiary DeepMind. The company, which specializes in AI, is developing a chat bot called Sparrow that is comparable to ChatGPT [1].

All in all, Google is likely to increase the pace of development in the field of AI in order to remain on a par with Microsoft. Google also has to concede one advantage: its database. With all its services and especially the search engine, Google generates a lot of data that is needed for the training of such machine learning services.

It can therefore be assumed that Google will also deliver results here in the foreseeable future, and as mentioned, Google is most likely to succeed as a competitor here, besides Microsoft. Google has similar server capacities as Microsoft, as already mentioned a huge database and, above all, a lot of experience and know-how in the field of AI.
