Improve your Life Today using Amazon’s secret Strategy
And how to ensure long-term success.
Jeff Bezos founded Amazon in 1994. Twenty-seven years later, he is one of the richest people in the world and Amazon is one of the biggest — ever known — companies .
While Amazon is undeniably a tech company and is still investing huge amounts of money to improve its business model, its core business strategy was built on this old-school premise:
Focus on the things that do not change.
Even though the premise is really simple, it is also easy to forget when big companies — and most of us — are pushed to leap a step forward when innovation seems to be the secret of massive success.

Catching the next wave, predicting the next trend, disrupting a field or hacking your way to near-immediate success… that‘s what works. But it is really hard to be innovative. It is hard to be truly disruptive. It is really hard to be successful. Shortcuts typically yield short-term benefits — and then they just drop.
Knowing what will change — that’s incredibly difficult.
This is why Bezos does not care at all about what will change — not matter if near, mid or long-term . He focuses on what will not change at all. He bases all his actions on absolute, universal and atemporal truths.
Bezos built Amazon around things he knew would be stable over time, investing heavily in ensuring that Amazon would provide those things — and improve its delivery of those things.
As Bezos stated in a 2012 interview:
I very frequently get the question: “What’s going to change in the next 10 years?” And that is a very interesting question; it’s a very common one. I almost never get the question: “What’s not going to change in the next 10 years?” And I submit to you that that second question is actually the more important of the two — because you can build a business strategy around the things that are stable in time. … [I]n our retail business, we know that customers want low prices, and I know that’s going to be true 10 years from now. They want fast delivery; they want vast selection.
It’s impossible to imagine a future 10 years from now where a customer comes up and says, “Jeff, I love Amazon; I just wish the prices were a little higher.” “I love Amazon; I just wish you’d deliver a little more slowly.” Impossible.
And so the effort we put into those things, spinning those things up, we know the energy we put into it today will still be paying off dividends for our customers 10 years from now. When you have something that you know is true, even over the long term, you can afford to put a lot of energy into it.

This is why, focusing on things that won’t change does not guarantee success — but it provides a clear foundation for success in the long-term.
So now you must be wondering… okey, what can I do with this?
You should try to find your own truths and work aligned with them. Working with absolute, universal and atemporal truths in our daily life allows us to start off from a really advantageous stage — and be able to arrive way further. Here are some unchangable mottoes that can help change your life now:
- You Have More Time Than You Think You Do — The next time you say “I don’t have the time” change your wording to say “it isn’t a priority.” There are 168 hours every week. Let that sink in for a moment. That is a monumental amount of time. You decide how to use it.
- Making a Wrong Decision Is Better Than Making No Decision — Most people spend the majority of their time trapped in analysis paralysis. If you do not dare to do any action, you will never experience any success neither.
- There Won’t Ever Be a Better Time to Start —Most people put off their dreams, thinking there would be a better time to pursue them later. Doing so, you are going to be waiting forever. You should start working now — pursuing your dream job, start learning that language you love or just do whatever you really want.
- Consistency Is Better Than Intensity — Just start working a little bit every day. Creating habits is way better than doing everything at once — and badly. Working out for five hours won’t help to change your body. But working out five times a week for five months might do so.
- The Apples on the Other Side of the Wall aren’t the Sweetest — Most of the time, you’ll only see the positive aspects of other people’s life and have no idea about their real struggles. But the truth is that everyone is facing their own battles. So do not compare yourself with others.
- Money Really Matters — Financial stability can often equal peace of mind and even though money is not everything, a lot of things are nothing without money. Money doesn’t only allow you to pay your monthly expenses, but it also allows you to be really free.
- Looks Really Matter — At first, we all judge people by how they look. That’s not even evil, it’s natural. Feeling comfortable in your skin and clothes might not only lead to a more powerful first impression, but it will also help you to feel better and act more confidently.
Regardless of how careful you are, life will slap in your face more often than you might expect. This is why, starting off with some truths can improve our way to deal with life and how to assess our current problems.
Find your own unchangable truths. If you’re brave enough to accept and embrace these truths, you can make significant changes in the long-term.
They can either be your enemy or your greatest mentors.
Everything is up to you.
