Celebrating Vision Board Manifestation
Dreams Come True | Manifest Destiny

An update on what I’ve manifested so far. Some ideas to help you manifest your dreams by creating a vision board, the power of gratitude and how it helps you get what you want, and some tips on how to stay motivated and focused while working towards your goals.
89.2% of my vision board has been realized
In July, I came up with five things I wanted to do between then and December 2022. At the end of October, I checked 3 of the things off my list. Anyway, I’m thrilled and celebrating.
I made a vision board with the visualizations of the items I wanted to achieve. The destiny I wanted to create was:
- Get the job of my dreams (weighted goal)
- Go on a solo vacation
- Get to my goal weight
- Holiday with family in Haiti
- Move to New York City
Here’s what I have accomplished so far and how I did it.
1. Get the job of my dreams: (This goal was weighted heavier than the others; hence the statistical difference in the overall percent of accomplished items) This one was hard, and I got it done faster than expected. I landed an interview at my dream company by publishing my thought leadership, networking, and reaching out to people in my field. From there, it was just a matter of nailing the interviews and proving that I was the best candidate for the job — which I did! More
2. Go on a solo vacation: I had always wanted to travel solo, but I was never sure if I could do it. I decided to go for it this year and booked a trip to Toronto! It was a fantastic experience, and I’m so glad I did it. More. Retrospect (first-world perspective expanded).
3. Get to my goal weight: This one took some serious dedication, and I made progress, but I have not accomplished it yet. If I’m honest, I have been backsliding since I started. I’m still eating better (half the time) and working out more than before, but I do not see the desired results. I’m not giving up, though!
4. Vacation with family in Haiti: This one is stalled because of the unrest in that country. I’m sad about it since I have wanted, for eighteen years, to visit the land of my sons’ father. Still, I am monitoring the situation, and as soon as it is safe to travel, I will book our tickets!
5. Move to New York City: We leased our apartment last Friday!!!!!! It’s in Harlem, tiny, and perfect for our needs. We are so excited to be starting our new life in the city. I’m looking forward to all the new experiences and opportunities that will come with living in New York.

So, there you have it! I figure that I’m 89.2% of the way to accomplishing my goals, and I feel pretty good about it. It has been challenging to stay motivated sometimes, but seeing my progress has been worth it.
When obstacles present themselves, I look at my board or I go back to my vision board article and remind myself that tweaks are OK. I pause and reflect on what’s gone right, I appreciate the moment I’m in with all its challenges, and I carry on.
What about you? Have you made any progress on your goals for this year?
Setting goals is a great way to stay motivated and focused on what’s important to you — and as you can see from my update, it can also be satisfying to check things off your list! If you haven’t made a vision board yet, or if it’s been a while since you’ve updated yours, now is a great time to do so. What are some things you hope to achieve in the next year or two? Let me know in the comments below!
