I take A LOT of photos when I travel!

Don’t know about you, but I’ve had one too many experiences of getting home and thinking: Why didn’t a get a photo of that? Whatever ‘that’ turns out to be.

Not anymore! Even though this used to happen to me all the time, it doesn’t so much anymore as I’ve learned to get LOTS of photos. I may end up getting too many now actually, but that’s ok. The joy of digital photography is that I can always delete. No big deal.

Photo storage. Every phone and computer I’ve owned in the last decade or two ends up being chuck FULL of photos. This is what eats up all the space on my computer and always leads me to ask such questions as: Is this laptop going to have enough storage?

Luckily, most laptops these days have plenty, but I still always double check before making my purchase.

Auto upload. My photos automatically upload to my computer, which is awesome. It’s a great backup and I don’ have to worry about transferring them all the time like in the old days. Maybe everyone has this set up now. Don’t know. But as a non-techie I’m so happy for this.

Practice makes (almost) perfect. Taking lots of photos has great benefits. It can help a person become a much better photographer by tweaking certain things like framing, lighting, focus, etc. My photos aren’t perfect, but I don’t think they are half bad either.

That being said, I still don’t use my iPhone camera to it’s full abilities, mostly because I get impatient and just want to snap away. I’ve been learning to be more patient and take time getting great photos.

I love technology! I’m just old enough to remember what life was like before digital photography came along: A roll of 24 exposures — I better use them wisely!

Then there was that giant letdown when, after waiting patiently for the photos to be developed, most of the photos didn’t turn out as expected. Or, there were a bunched of double exposures or whatever. So frustrating!

By the way, have you stopped to show a techie some love today? I don’t do this near enough myself, but really should. If had to go back to 1985 I think I would just die! On rare occasions when the internet goes down, I get a small taste of what life used to be like. No thank you!

So, while you are out traveling and seeing the world, I say, don’t forget to get a LOT of photos! I myself never regret it.
