Cats Have Careers, Too!

And they’re fastidious about performing their duties to the finickiest degree of fussbudgetness

Doggo had mixed felines when he saw the airport security customs officercats.

He knew cats of old … They always had the very definite idea that what was theirs was theirs, and what was someone else’s was theirs, as well.

And, sure enough, Officercats just meowed when they did their cat scan: “Yay! That’s our bon-us!” and rolled about mewing hysterically, yowling triumphantly, and pointing their paws at him.

Before eating his luggage.

This kittie is a world famous romance pawthor — she is the one and only, KittieCoo Catheart. She lives in Bees-to-the-Honey Cottage in Upper Lovington, Moggsville.

She so loved a happy ending that although she’d tried writing in other genres, she always came back to purr-stories.

Amongst her best-selling novels — already published — are ‘Romeow and Julicat’ — (the painting for the cover is above); also, ‘Kitten Karenina’, and Catablanca.

Some hints and tips from KittieCoo to any aspiring pawthors:

  • the kitty-love has to be the focus of your storyline
  • the catfights and obstacles have to affect the romance, not peripheral things like the litter box, the fish pond, or the mouse trap
  • the secondary plot has to feed the main plot, like tuna to a tabby, and not detract from it

KittieCoo suggested some movies from which much can be learned by way of increasing tension: ‘Love Catchually’, ‘Gone with the Purr’, ‘The Great Catsby’, ‘My Fair Tabby’, ‘The Sound of Mewsic’, ‘Some Cats Like it Hot’, ‘Raiders of the Fridge’, and ‘A Streetcat Named Desire’.

Miss Meowple — amateur consulting catective

There once was a cat who knitted things, and wore a hat. Wherever she wandered people pondered why corpses always appeared.

It was very weird, the way that happened.

There is more to this tale and if you wish to avail yourself of the rest of it just click on this link.

It’s all in rhyme, this tale of a crime- catcher in her prime. But it’s too long to put it all in here so the rest of it is over there.

Miss Meowple has a whole range of different hats and disguises to carry out her catecting without being recognised. It would be catastrophic if the cat was let out of the bag, or if she were recognised.

In this piece, we’ve covered three careers that you, Kitty-reader, might wish to pursue: customs officercat, romance pawthor, amateur consulting catective.

In a future article, careers covered will include: choir-yowl directcat, wildlife and safari holiday chiefcat, cat artist, guard cat, and many more.

A big cat tale:
