Cat, Cake, Creams, Cousins, Chrysanthemums, And Christmas

Do the Cs have a connection?

Cat

This cat is Lola. She was a birthday present for my granddaughter, Khushi, by her parents. She was small and, in fact, really small when she came home. Every time I visited them she would sit in a corner and keep looking at me. My son would say ‘she is going to attack you,’ but she merely came under my legs and purred.

Now when I go she is so big and she hides behind the curtain. Maybe she wants to attack me, but so far she quietly sits and stares at me with her green eyes.

Cats don’t like cake but they are greedy and in India, so far, they do not go to a birthday party.

Cake

I was invited by my dear doting Saniya for her daughter’s birthday. The theme was mermaids and Zenia, her daughter, cut the cake and ate the mermaid on the cake.

If there was a cat on the cake she might have not eaten it, but there was none.😀😎

Creams

These days there are creams galore. You go to the market and the salesman will show you morning cream, evening cream, and dry skin cream and you are confused.

If you go to a small shop, the salesman or woman will aggressively sell and make you buy some cosmetic cream.

So much for pop and mom shops.

If you go to a department store, then each counter has a different brand. Every brand wants to outsell the other.

Creams increase on your dressing table and then they go into your drawers. Creams are there for men and women and then multipurpose uses for pets, too! 😎😀❤️

Cousins

Cousins visiting from different countries also present you with hand creams and moisturizing body creams and so on. The creams keep on increasing.

You can neither throw them nor use them. Too many to handle.

Cousins meet and have fun together. There is so much to share.

4 of us sitting in the chairs are cousins. Our mothers were sisters. The two flanking us on either side are from my eldest aunt we call Masi (Masi means just like mother). She was the eldest sister. The cousin next to me is the daughter of my mother’s second elder sister. My mother was the third sister. I am in peach wearing a skirt.

Chrysanthemums

The cousins cannot forget to discuss childhood memories of our garden with the beautiful Chrysanthemums in our homes when we were young. How we admired all the colors.

These flowers are blooming in my friend’s home and I asked her if I could take pictures. She was delighted. I keep showcasing her garden. They don’t grow in my home now because they want the sun to shine on them to give results. In winter there is hardly any sun where my other plants bloom.

Now I choose the flowers that will stay well in the harsh winter. Of course, there is no snow in Delhi.

Christmas

Finally, there are Christmas preparations everywhere. I showed interest in the decorations and one of the owners of the departmental grocery store came out and asked me if I wanted a picture with Santa.

People are delighted when you like their decorations.

I gave her my phone and she clicked my pictures.

Thanks to dear JoAnn Ryan for the ‘C’ challenge and welcome to Allisonn Church to my favorite publication In Living Color.
