Can’t Sleep
You’ve been on my mind…
You’ve awoken something in me, long dormant and hidden, and now I can’t sleep for wanting you.
I lay awake all night just imagining your kisses, and I can’t sleep a wink while my pulse throbs inside.
Anticipation of your touch ignites fire in my veins, and I just can’t sleep while you’re on my mind.
I picture you above me as you hover in the half-light, It feels just like a dream, but I am wide awake.
You sing to me a melody that exists beyond mere words, I’ll be humming that tune now ’til the time the sun rises.
Imagined hands traverse the contours of my needful flesh, and I know that I won’t sleep because your imprint is so deep.
Your voice speaks to my very soul in a language I’d forgotten, Now how can I sleep while you resonate within?
You’ve awoken something in me, long dormant and hidden, and now I can’t sleep, ’cause I’m thinking of you.
