The war in Israel roars on as Israel intends to retaliate against Hamas and continues to bomb the Gaza Strip. Israel is looking for major Hamas infrastructure, but there is also civilian collateral damage.

The people of Palestine are still suffering as Israeli airstrikes decimate the Gaza Strip. Palestinian residents have been dislocated en masse, and it turns out that about 264,000 Palestinians have been dislocated. The Israeli bombings come after the October 7th massacre, in which over 1,000 Israelis were killed. Israel intends to floor the Gaza Strip so that it may carry on with ground assaults. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says that the next stage of the war is coming. Hundreds of thousands of reservists have been called from Israel in order to help in the fighting that will soon come.

Thousands of Palestinians living in northern Gaza have fled south to escape the bombing. Northern Gaza was given a six-hour window period in order to evacuate. The window for evacuation ended at 4 p.m. on October 14th. The UN is still urging Israel not to pursue its path of violence and wants Israel to try to stop the war before it gets out of hand. Israel wants to completely annihilate Hamas, but it is damaging the lives of innocent people. The UN is concerned over the humanitarian struggle that Palestinians are facing today. What the UN wants the most is a ceasefire between Hamas and Israel.

The US is urging fleeing Palestinians to flee south toward the crossing border with Egypt. The Rafah border between Egypt and the Gaza Strip may be a safe haven for Palestinians, but Egypt still does not want to let Palestinian migrants in. Israel has stopped providing the necessities that Gaza needs. Without food, water, electricity, and other necessities, Palestinian migrants have no choice but to go to the Egyptian border. Egypt wants to send aid to the Gaza Strip, but it cannot because of Israeli airstrikes. Both Egyptians and Jordanians say that they cannot send major support to Gaza unless Israel stops the current bombings.

The Egyptian foreign minister, Sameh Shoukry, said that the Egyptian borders were not closed and that the Rafah border had sustained some damage. Egypt may have trouble bearing the weight of the 2 million Palestinians that will come to the border soon. Honestly, Egypt would have a problem supporting the hundreds of thousands of Palestinians that are coming to its borders. As Israel amasses an army of reservists and starts an actual ground invasion in the Gaza strip, This would potentially put a strain on the limited resources that Egypt has.

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi is currently sympathizing with those in the Gaza Strip. Sisi says that Egypt is making every effort that it can now in order to send support to the Gaza Strip and that “he sympathizes” with the people of Palestine. Sisi also wants to make it clear that Egypt does not want to strain the resources that it has, as the country is already hosting 9 million migrants. Migrants from all over Africa and the Middle East have come to Egypt in order to seek refuge. The UN National Organization for Migration has reported that the largest migrant population in Egypt is coming from Sudan, Syria, Yemen, and Libya.

Samen Shoukry calls out Israel for its acts of human rights violations. He says that Israel displacing hundreds of thousands of Palestinians is a grave violation of “international humanitarian law” and that Israel is risking the well-being of millions of people.

Egypt is still able to get some help from the Gaza Strip, as a plane carrying medical equipment was sent to Arish. The medical supplies were sent from Jordan, and Jordan does seem like it wants to help Palestinians. Jordan and Egypt are putting pressure on Israel because they want to stop the current humanitarian crisis. It is also in their intention to make sure that those in Gaza are not in place. The Gaza Strip is still the land of the Palestinians, and Egypt wants to make sure that Palestinians can still hold that land. The displacement of the masses of Palestinians would cause the state of Palestine to crumble.

The humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip will only get worse from here as Israel builds an army in order to invade the Gaza Strip. Only Egypt and Israel border the Gaza Strip, but there are countries outside of Gaza’s border that want to help migrants. Jordan, which has already been mentioned, is starting to support migrants in the Gaza Strip. Canada is also trying to help those in Gaza, as it has sent $10 million worth of aid to the Gaza Strip. Canada is also trying to make sure that its aid does not fall into the wrong hands.
