APRIL PROMPT RESPONSE
By Invitation Only
Welcome to my bliss station!

At first glance, my bliss station might look a bit sterile to many creative minds, but, as you have probably guessed by now, I am not normal! Yay!
No, I did not tidy before taking my photos — I am one of those weirdos that can’t relax and create if everything is not, to my way of thinking, tickety-boo.
That is so a word, and it means, clean, dusted, organised, with any piles of papers/books, neatly arranged — spines perfectly aligned and edges straight. According to the dictionary of, Raine’s Lore!
(The idea that books and papers could have misaligned edges is horrifying and unthinkable).
I love my space.
On the walls, hang photographic dedications to family artisans, long departed, and sprinkled about are framed prints from the brush of my great-grandfather, New Zealand Master Artist, W.G. Baker.
Every other knickknack is a treasure from some important person or event in my life. That’s just how I roll.
Tucked into corners, and the glass-fronted wardrobe (header image) is my collection of literally hundreds of art pens, (I am understating), art papers, photographic equipment including tripods, a green screen, gear for video blogging, technology past and present, and anything else I think I might one day need in pursuit of my creative desires.

The picture above was taken from the opposite corner of my room. You can see my prized possession, a glass-fronted cabinet that my daughter-in-law lovingly refers to as my “shrine”.
Inside the shrine is a pristine copy of all the books I have written and published since beginning my true writing adventures in 2014.
I love my shrine. It contains approximately twenty books.
The comfy recliner shown in my header image is where I do most of my reading. This is my haven and no one crosses the threshold without invitation.
My bliss station is situated off the hall on the west side of our house. Outside there is a narrow access area that Dee lovingly tends and keeps in a neat condition. I can view it from my window desk when I want to look at something growing.
Dee gets me!

What does my little studio mean to me?
It is my haven. A place where I can create without anybody looking over my shoulder. I have the liberty to play uninterrupted as I work on any one of my many projects. This private space gives me the freedom to be exactly who, and what I have always wanted to be; a creative who adores writing, painting, drawing, photography, animation, and several other pastimes.
Music has taken a backseat in my later years, but I still have the means to create musically, if the urge should prompt me to do so.
In a nutshell, I am grateful for everything that has led me to this wonderful time in my life. I have a space that is mine alone, a place that I have dreamed of for so long, and which was, for many years, out of reach.
This is the room where Raine Lore was created, and I hope to be able to enjoy this bliss for many more years to come.
