Bursts of Tangerine
A celebration twittle

A flashy show of “Look at me!”
citrusy bursts of tangerine
bold and ballsy in bright abandon
a delight to behold in any garden
My ‘morning constitutionals’ come into a league of their own when I’m on vacation. The need to burn calories after the previous day’s dietary excesses is one thing, but more importantly, it’s the opportunity to immerse oneself in the natural and cultural environments that holiday locations have to offer. The senses are alive and buzzing, sharpened and on high alert for novel sights, sounds and scents — the equivalent of teleporting from one lifestyle to another if only for a short time.
And so it was this morning when I happened across Mother Nature’s tangerine marvel, Leucospermum lineare, while out walking near the holiday park we’re staying at. I couldn’t miss the opportunity to step in and take some close-ups of what my creative brain told me was a spectacular synchronized fireworks display. The thought of fireworks had me thinking of New Year’s Eve celebrations.
Roll on 2021! Sorry, but we’re done with you, 2020!!
A twittle is a micropoem of exactly 100 alphabet letters arranged into four lines. Here’s another celebration twittle, Kisses of Cream.
Many thanks to Whitney Rose at Flicker and Flight for publishing this and an ever-growing catalogue of twittles. 😊 💕
