Burning Memories
Free Verse Poetry — The Never-Ending Poem

you are a slow burning ember simmering on the cusp of my mind waiting for me to give you oxygen
a scent, a song or a passing glance each a bellow pumping air ’til you are a raging inferno
you become uncontrollable memories lap at my heels snake upward ’til my heart bursts
and just like that, nostalgia engulfs me, consumes me ’til I smolder in your arms again

Martin Rushton started the never-ending poem and sparked a beautiful wildfire. I will continue this challenge by tagging ten incredible writers to post their poem anywhere on Medium using my prompt.
Dennett, Desiree Driesenaar, I. M. Dust, Gordon McFarland, Amy Marley, Bonnie Flach, Tapan Avasthi, Terry Mansfield, Somsubhra Banerjee, Melissa Coffey
Your prompt is sunset. Keep it going and tag 10 of your favorite writers and create a different prompt. Tag me too and include the original never-ending poem in your post.
I was tagged by Srinath using the prompt — Nostalgia. Here is Srinath’s poem:
I look forward to reading all of your poems, should you choose to play along!
