A Poem

It is as if there was a box.

You cannot blame women for being curious

you cannot blame women for wanting to know

you cannot blame women for having a strong dislike

of being told not to of being in the dark

it was not about trust it was not about secrecy

it was about knowledge being hoarded

snakes and boxes and apples listen: she just wanted to see

she just wanted to know it was all going to happen anyway

it was all already happening anyway the cultures behind the stories just needed

someone to blame and someone to look to

for hope.
