Boundless Beauty
Weeds & Wildflowers June Prompt & Banner
I was intrigued by LM’s photo of a meadow and trees with mountains in the background. Ignoring the mountains, the land is flat, as flat as Florida where I live. But then, the mountain range changes the perspective and the land becomes hilly, craggy. There’s a sense of boundlessness, a certain feeling of eternity in an odd juxtaposition of opposites.
Thank you, LM, for the June banner photo and for inspiring this month’s prompt.
I live in a world that’s a close, tightly-woven landscape of trees, plants, bodies of water, homes, and streets. My vista is limited. But, I can travel a short distance and see flat land that stretches for miles and miles.
I’m a flatlander. The meadow and trees in LM’s photo speak to me more than the mountains. What about you?
Our June prompt is Boundless Beauty and what that means to you. Think wide, high, and long. Think open spaces and distant horizons. Photos, poetry, stories, articles. Anything that relates to Boundless Beauty. Your options are, well, boundless!
Remember to use Writing Prompt Response as one of your tags. And, keep in mind that Weeds & Wildflowers prompts have no due or expiration dates.
A giant thank you to all who participated in the May prompt, Escaping, and to Scott Younkin for the May banner.
Each time I write a newsletter, I plan to add links to the prompt responses for the previous month but get too busy or too rushed and leave them out. I’m including them this month but can’t promise the same next month!
Here are our May prompt writers with links to their submissions:
Lynne Collier: Blue Fairy in My Garden
Ronald C. Flores-Gunkle: Escape to Panama
Elin Melaas: It Feels Like We’ve Been Stuck for Ages
Penny Grubb: Can’t Escape Friends Like These
Rishab Batra: Escaping-Open The Moment
Dennett: Opening Up and Moving On
Catherine Dunn: Escape on the Water
As always, I am honored to have each and every one of you contributing to Weeds & Wildflowers. And, I’m grateful to all the readers who clap, highlight, and comment. We all need your encouragement and appreciation!
Sincerely,
Dennett 2022
