Bored During The New Normal?
My new normal isn’t new and definitely not boring!

Rasheed Hooda invited me to share how the new normal in our world has affected my life. It’s much like this sunrise. Full of opportunity. But first…
A friend posted on Facebook that during this new normal he was bored. BORED! I thought, oh my, I’ve been anything but bored.
There’s really no suspense here because honestly, not a lot has changed for me. Except for one really cool development. I’ll get to that later.
I have been working from home for the last five years. And as I revealed in this story, in May of 2019 I lost my job of 32 years.
Since then I’ve been reinventing myself, working out of my home office, and pursuing an online business. So when businesses closed their doors and began sending employees home to work, I was already here.
Aside from social interaction, I really haven’t missed a lot of the normal day-to-day things that a lot of people are missing.
The one thing that has changed is I’ve been devoting myself to writing. In August 2019 I discovered Medium and since then I’ve been writing on a regular basis. Here is my first story.
The Cool Development… It was also during this new normal that I was invited by Dr Mehmet Yildiz to become a writer for his new publication, ILLUMINATION. Dr. Yildiz and I had previously connected in another publication and I was flattered at the invitation to join his new project.
ILLUMINATION is not a normal publication. I have met so many writers who have become friends. Given this period of isolation, the timing could not have been better to become a part of such an engaged community.
I’ve also been more diligent with my writing. In fact, for the past 50 days, I’ve been writing and submitting stories every day. My stories range in topics and differ in presentation style.
One of my favorite methods for storytelling is with acronyms. This story of appreciation for ILLUMINATION is one of my favorites.
I’ll close with a brief acronym story based on Rasheed’s challenge. The word for this acronym is NORMAL. I want to leave you with a Daily Doable from this acronym to inspire each of you to excel during this new normal.
This is not my normal acronym story but hey, it fits the premise here 😃

Daily Doable: I will Not wallow in self-pity but I will Accept whatever challenge Life throws at me. And I will use my new normal as an Opportunity to Reinvent Myself. #DoWhatYouCanNow
