Alaric’s offer is tempting, but you can’t help but feel uneasy about trusting him. You don’t know what he’s capable of or his true motives.

“I appreciate the offer, but I can’t risk it,” you say, shaking your head. “I don’t trust you.”

Alaric’s face falls, disappointment etched into his features. “I understand,” he says quietly. “But be careful. Blood magic is not to be taken lightly.”

You nod, acknowledging his warning. The flicker of the candle flame casts strange shadows across the walls of the cell, and the silence is almost suffocating. You finally decide to break the silence.
