Blizzard, Schmizzard

An important update

Yesterday in The Calm Before the Blizzard I wrote about an impending storm. We were under a blizzard warning. Well, the blizzard came and the blizzard went. It dumped a meager two inches of snow and the winds were never severe.

Sorry, but that is not a blizzard. Earlier in the week we had a storm that dumped six inches with howling winds and the weather people called that merely a ‘snowstorm.’ The word, blizzard, never came up.

So what’s the difference between a snowstorm and a blizzard?

That’s not a joke. I’m asking.

The big question, though, is, What difference does it make? What does it matter? Why must everything be labeled?

The important big news is that after an overcast early morning we now suddenly have a cloudless blue sky. Finally! Hallelujah!

So I may have to cut my writing short and go outside to absorb some of that life-giving sunshine. I am thinking perhaps a picnic is in order.

I know everyone is dying to hear about my latest picnic adventures since I took the Picnic Pledge back in January. I had one picnic in January and one so far in February so I’ve got to get one more in this month in order to double the previous month. March will have four picnics and April will have eight.

You, too, can join the Picnic Pledge. It’s easy. Start by going on a picnic and then with each new month double the numbers of picnics you had the previous month. Keep doing this as long as you possibly can. The one who does it the longest is the Picnic Pledge Champion. (No prizes awarded except the satisfaction of knowing that you helped raise the vibratory frequency of humankind and the planet.)

In other pressing news I finally tried out that Typewriter I Bought the other day. It only has one flaw. The on/off button is broken. The only way to turn it on is to plug it in and the only way to turn it off is to unplug it. It’s a minor inconvenience. Everything else seems to work and it’s got a fairly new ribbon so overall is was a good buy for five bucks.

I still don’t know what I’m going to use it for.

Okay, now I’m thinking about food. If I am going to double the number of picnics I have each month then I am going to have to do some serious planning and shopping. No one wants to eat the very same food for every picnic, in fact that is one of the rules of the Picnic Pledge. You’ve got to mix it up. The Picnic Pledge should be a culinary adventure as well as an empowering spiritual adventure.
