Summary

The author, White Feather, expresses a deep personal connection with sunrises and laments the lack of sunny days due to persistent cloudy weather, emphasizing the importance of witnessing sunrises for their mental and physical well-being.

Abstract

White Feather has been unable to enjoy sunrises for several weeks due to an overcast sky that has enveloped their town. They yearn for a location with unobstructed views of sunrises and sunsets, ideally with no more than five cloudy days a year. Despite the current 'blizzard watch' and the calm, serene winter scene outside their window, the author acknowledges the impending storm and the dense 'mojo' energy present before it hits. The absence of sunrises has a profound negative impact on the author's mood and energy levels, underscoring the significance of these daily events for their sense of vitality.

Opinions

  • The author values the beauty and rejuvenating power of sunrises, considering them essential for personal 'mojo' and energy.
  • The calmness before a storm is seen as a period rich in energy that can be harnessed for personal empowerment, though the author suggests this potential is often overlooked.
  • The author criticizes the weather forecast for predicting another day without a sunrise, which they find distressing and detrimental to their health.
  • The author holds a romanticized view of a hill with clear views as an ideal place to live, with a preference for a climate that offers abundant sunshine throughout the year.
  • The sudden change in weather, from calm to the beginning of a blizzard, is observed with a sense of loss as the birds stop singing and the peaceful scene is disrupted.

The Calm Before the Blizzard

It’s all about the mojo

I was deprived of an opportunity to witness and commune with the sunrise this morning by a thick, gray blanket of clouds thrown over my town. I have only been able to catch two sunrises in the last three weeks because of that dark, depressing cloud cover that never seems to go away for long.

I want to live on a hill with unobstructed views of all sunrises and sunsets. That hill would have to be located somewhere that has no less than 360 sunny days a year. Five cloudy days a year is about all I can handle. We’ve had that many here just this week.

The town in which I live is currently under a ‘blizzard watch.’ Looking out my office window I see a beautiful if somewhat dreary winter scene. It is very, very still; with not so much as a millimeter of wind. There is no snow falling. It is incredibly peaceful and to top it all off there are actually a few birds singing in the tree outside my window.

It is the calm before the storm!

Once that blizzard comes barreling into town I probably won’t be hearing any birds anymore.

As everyone knows, the calm before a storm is densely packed with high intensity mojo. The frequency dial is peaked out. It’s a great source of both mojo and energy but not many people utilize that to empower themselves and their health.

Sadly, the weather forecast calls for yet another cold, dark, dismal, gray cloudy day tomorrow so it looks like I won’t get my sunrise tomorrow either. I’ve heard of people who have not watched a sunrise in years. I start losing it if I have to go two whole weeks without experiencing a sunrise. I start wilting and decaying as my mojo and energy become depleted. It’s not pretty.

So you see how important sunrises are to me. I need them to stay charged.

How important are sunrises to you?

Snowflakes have suddenly begun to fall. A light breeze is blowing the naked tree limbs. The birds are abruptly gone.
